April 5th wedding postponed

Crystal, on March 15, 2020 at 3:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
The past few nights I’ve been reading all the heartbreaking stories of brides postponing their wedding. We’ve been discussing and contemplating the same the last week and a half. I held onto hope and to be completely honest, I’m in shock and can’t fathom what’s going on. We just made the decision an hour ago to postpone our wedding. Our hearts are shattered. All the time, money, stress and efforts we’ve put into our dream wedding, to have more stress and pressure to make that decision. Our faith is strong and we’ve decided to move forward and elope on our land, even if it’s just us. As hard as that decision was, not knowing if immediate family can even drive to witness. The ENEMY will not win and intervene into our unity or our marriage. That’s where we stand as heartbroken as we are. Our marriage is forever, the wedding celebration is just one day.

I’m deeply sorry to all other brides out there facing the same questions and decisions. For the ones who have postponed... how will you proceed with rsvps with your new date? I hate to think of more stress and planning. My wedding planning was beyond stressful, as I’m sure for all of us, and I can’t fathom to think how we’ll continue. There are so many uncertainties if loved ones will be able to come at a later time, with people possibly being quarantined with no income. Looking for advice on how to proceed next💔 Be blessed y’all.

Ugh, girl I can’t imagine! Our wedding is April 18th and so far our venue said they have no plan on closing due to this! However, things can definitely change real quick! When did you decide to postpone it too??

Our venue told us on Thursday, “they’re still doing business as usual. Until the state of Texas says otherwise”. We have not come forward with our news and still debating on how to approach it. When we faced the uncertainty last week, they said we could postpone at a later time, but no refund. Which is blessing to know we can move forward at a later time. However, there’s still uncertainty that loved ones will be able to accommodate coming later. We’ve discussed having the vow renewal April 5,2021 which would be our one year anniversary. Not sure if we would be able to extend the date that far out. I think having it on our anniversary with loved ones would be beautiful, and gives loved ones plenty time to save amongst this catastrophe. We’re contemplating on playing chicken, take it day by day and wait to see if the venue will cancel and they’ll have no choice but to refund. Lots of decisions and uncertainties

Tawney, im right there with you. I cried most of the day yesterday. We decided yesterday to postpone our April 11 wedding. We were trying to ride it out as well, thinking things would let up, but things just keep getting worse. And we were having almost 500 ppl, a lot from out of state and also older folks coming into town for our wedding. A lot of them started to cancel because they had restrictions put in them by work, their city or even the military. So the thought of putting our family and friends health in jeopardy was too unbearable. My faith is the only thing holding me together right now. I know God’s plans are better than mine.
I feel for all the brides out there who have put in so much work for their special day, only to have to postpone. Hopefully vendors will be more accommodating and empathetic during this time. Thankfully all of mine are, and willing to work with me on a new date.
    Hang in there. ❤️
