Just Said Yes April 2023

April 25, 2020 😭😭

Lucy, on March 29, 2020 at 11:13 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12
My wedding date is or more so was on April 25, 2020. We are so close to the date, because of this corona virus pandemic we had to postpone our wedding ceremony and reception. I have so many mixed emotions, and try to take it a day at a time. My fiance is as hurt about this as I am. But the well being of our friends and family are important to the both of us. Did anyone else postpone, if so share your feelings. 😢

Ours was supposed to be the 19th. Our venue closed until May 1st.. I cried HARD. For a few days! But now that's it's been a few days I know this is all for the best. It just wasn't going to be the special day you planned without family there or you know.. anything open. We're now July 26 and am actually looking forward to a summer wedding! ( And totally keeping all the April 19 dates we have on our stuff because you know that's what happens when you try to get married during a pandemic) . Let yourself be sad and mad. It's ok! But you will still get to have your special day!

Yes, there have been loads of spring wedding postponements and many discussions of them here on WW (via the search box). We’re in October, but could easily be in the same situation. So we have backup plans to keep from last minute scrambling. For us there’s more time to watch and make changes. But I can only image how it must feel to be in the “home stretch” and then this pandemic sweeps in so quickly and changes everything.

It’s tough and shows how imperfect life is, as well as highlights what’s important. Hope you can still find some joy during all of this.

It is what it is. I'm at peace with everything. Made a couple adjustments. Sent digital resave the dates. I'm learning to control what I can and let go of the things I cannot change. Heck, a lot of my peeps are excited for summer weather and super sunshine. Seek the positives. If you have to make them up, do itSmiley smile We shall overcome

Thank you so much. You're absolutely right. There's nothing better fhen your health and having loved ones to share your special day. We dont have a date yet and couldn't set one til the venue opens again. But I am keeping a positive attitude. Once again, thank you for understanding my feelings.
