Application reviewed?

Desiree, on January 25, 2016 at 11:32 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

NWR: I just applied for a job at a bank. I did the interview online last night. The status says "application reviewed". What would you interpret that as? Maybe I'm reading into it to much because I really want the job and I hate rejection lol.

I would take that as the application is "in progress". Most applications have to go through a couple levels of review so I would be shocked if they already made a decision. Good luck and I hope you get it!

Keep information on the job handy so you have it if you get called for another interview, but otherwise don't dwell on it. Move on, keep looking for other opportunities, keep living your life. That's what askamanager has taught me Smiley smile

ETA: And send a thank you note for your online interview!

I recently applied for a new job too. I just had the initial screening interview last Friday. I'm really hoping to get the job, but first more interviews. Holding my breath and crossing my fingers.

    Best of luck Desiree!

I would take it as they've looked at your application. But they may not have COMPLETELY reviewed it.. maybe just looked to see if you meet qualifications. Lots of online screening systems screen your application to see if you match before passing you on to an actual person to review.

So it could also mean that. In my experience, with online systems, it can take 2-3 weeks sometimes before you hear something. Some places have to keep the job open x amount of days before closing it. Then the manager might not have time to review apps for a week... It SUCKS waiting but doesn't always mean they don't want you.

Thank you guys! Makes me still feel hopeful. I did end up sending a thank you note. So hopefully it will make me stand out.
