Appetizers

Vicky, on June 18, 2019 at 7:52 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
I’m thinking of having my church ceremony and next door gym as my reception and guests will eat some “finger food”, wine and Chinese food. There will be cake cutting, backdrop for pictures and it will be located in the gym. What do you guys think? How much should I budget? Would guests be ok with that? What kind of apps should I get? I know Costco is good but I’m not sure what? Thank you!!!

I think in order to determine what your budget should be you need to know what your guest count will be so you can know how much you can afford to spend per guest. I think your plan sounds fine although I would be wary of how you’re going to prepare a bunch of apps and keep them warm and tasty so maybe trays of cold cuts, cheeses, veggies, dips and crackers would be a good option and things that don’t necessarily need lots of preparation.

I think it sounds fun!! Agree with the advice to keep the food simple to avoid any heating/ cooling issues. I’d definitely go for a dance floor and disco ball! Smiley smile

If you are shopping at Costco, I'd do easy things like fruit & veggie trays, and meat/cheese/cracker trays! If you have a crock pot or sterno chafing dish, you could do premade meatballs, Costco sells those too.

Find out what your guest count is going to be than go from there. You can always have local eateries or grocery store cater for reasonable.
