Anyone tried a Bridal Buddy?

Karla T, on June 22, 2017 at 10:41 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

My wedding dress is a ball gown with small train, so I'm wondering if I should purchase a Bridal Buddy. Has anyone tried one? Pros and cons, please.

Lol.. in theory, it seems pretty awesome! I would LOVE to not have 3 bridesmaids in the restroom with me.

Cool! Do you all think it'll work on all styles or mostly ball gowns?

Sit on the toilet backwards. Works great (also good for a laugh). I was able to successfully pee (overactive bladder) alone. Save the money and the extra layer of material under your dress.

The buzzfeed article posted by Jillian is freaking hilarious!!

I copied and pasted the "conclusion" but read the article because it's really funny.

    1. Overall, I preferred the garbage bag: It was the easiest to find under the dress, the elasticity of the plastic held the dress in place, and it was cheap. Plz recycle!

    2. However, if your dress has few layers, the Bridal Buddy is a little faster due to those arm holes, once you can find it under your skirt.

    3. Both of these methods work best if someone helps you shove your dress into them before you pee.

    4. If you have a ball gown, a dress that wrinkles easily, or you're short on cash (because wedding), sitting backward is probably the method for you.

    5. Try not to use the handicapped stall if you can — leave it for people who really need it, especially if your wedding is at a shared venue (like a hotel) — you wouldn't want anybody to have to miss out on wedding fun because the only stall they can use is occupied by a drunk bride trying to claw their way to freedom out of a human-sized cupcake, you know?

    6. Don't sit normally on the toilet, unless your wedding is intense eye contact–themed or something.

I would only take my dress off if I could step out of it. Otherwise, risk messing up hair/makeup.

@Nerdbride, I just found a Bridal Buddy knockoff for $15 on DHgate (it's the Amazon of China). I'm probably going to give it a try because... why not! $15 is worth it.

@JillianD, thanks for sharing!! Very informative and like @AndyJ said.. freaking hilarious!

@SherikaB, check out the article mentioned above by Jillian D. It appears to work for a variety of gown styles.

@OliviaP, I was thinking of going this route as well. The thought of all that fabric off for a few minutes is too enticing!!

    Thanks everyone!!

Just get a garbage bag and cut a hole in the top.

This is awesome! Surprisingly I never had to pee in the 9 or 10 hours I wore my wedding dress, but had I see this before I might have thought about it since I ususally have to go at least 10 times a day lol

I had a fluffy dress with a long train and really, sitting backwards is the way to go. I could handle my dress on my own, so it was nice to have a quick moment of privacy on an otherwise public day! Just slip your underwear off first (I ended up leaving mine off during the reception - just easier!)
