Hello! I am going off on vacation in 3 days and I have been debating whether I should take my Instax Mini 9.

I've heard mixed things about bringing the film and I was debating if I should just bring the camera empty and just buy the film there (I'm going to Maui) that way I don't have to deal with the film going through the x-ray scanner.

Has anyone ever brought one of these with them on an airplane before? Also does the x-ray scanner affect already developed photos if you leave them in your luggage (or I guess even in carry on since they still have to scan it)?

I brought mine on vacation once! It was nice to have I guess but honestly it’s heavy and bulky and not entirely worth the hassle? At least not to me. It was fun but I won’t do it again lol. The X-ray scanner didn’t damage anything.

Yeah I know it would be nice to have but I also considered the bulk and having to also take the camera out during the carry on scan (I hate having to take out laptops/tablets which is why I now don't carry it when I travel unless I need to lol). I think I'll likely opt out and not carry it with me. I like the idea of getting your picture printed instantly, but I'm not sure its worth the slight hassle... lol

Everything is very expensive in Hawaii, so expect to pay a lot! My brother just got back from Maui, and everything was so much more expensive. For example, cereal was like $10 a box! So that film will probably cost a lot!
