Anyone NOT having a honeymoon?

*Peacock*TheWifey, on June 3, 2011 at 4:51 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 43

Me and FH are currently trying to save money to buy our own place. We live with his parents right now to help with the situation, too. We also have our 4 month old and feel really bad about leaving him. At our wedding he'll be almost 7 months which isn't much better. We get our wedding night but that's about it Smiley sad Anyone else in a particular boat?

Actually, with moving our date back- we won't get an official "honeymoon."

The wedding is Saturday, and I start back up in school that Monday.

We are actually taking our honeymoon in July instead... before the wedding.

Me and the FH are only getting 3 days off for the wedding each.

The day before for rehearsal dinner and all that jazz,

    Then the wedding,

    and the day after.

We'll have the wedding night and all the next day, but the day after that is work for both of us.

Don't feel like that's a bad thing! It's actually really responsible that you aren't doing it right away, that's in the best interest of your child/finances. Actually a lot of brides are doing the HM as an anniversary and just not having one or going somewhere really close by. FH and I are doing that..then maybe doing a fancier HM for 1 year or after we both get real jobs as a celebration..we are both grad students. While it wouldn't wipe out our savings, we just felt like that would be a lot of money to spend all at once, with paying for the wedding and all.

We're not having one either - we just can't afford it right now. All we are doing is spending an extra night at the hotel to give us a chance to recover and have a little alone time with just us. As the wedding is out of town and is an evening wedding, all our guests will be overnighting the night of the wedding and will be hanging out with us the next day so we think of it as a delayed wedding night Smiley smile

Lea M.- I know alot of people that take their honeymoons later or do it at their 1 year anniversary. Don't feel bad!

After the wedding we are going to go to the beach (45 min drive) and get a nice suite for a couple of days. We talked about having a Honeymoon on our 1 year anniversary.

I'm being laid off as of the beginning of July, so a honeymoon isn't likely, at least not in the near future. We'll go eventually, but for now, we just want to get hitched.

We're in the same boat. I think we might do a one-two night getaway just to unwind, somewhere that's driving distance, but we are going to have a mortgage soon so we're trying to be vigilant about saving money as much as we can. Plus our wedding is in November, right after Thanksgiving and before Christmas and New Year's... too many expenses adding up.

We are undecided if we will take ours right away or later down the road. But I know I want to at least get a hotel room for our actual wedding night. We are paying for everything ourselves so it's up in the air right now. Kinda like a "let's wait and see what happens when it gets closer to the wedding".

We are not able to take a traditional honeymoon either because we have to travel all the way to Maine for the wedding. So we will take our "honeymoon" on our one year anniversary.

Unless I get a job right away there will be no HM for us either. I just wanted to go camping for a few days, but FH said he may even have to be back at work on our wedding night!!!!!!! (we're getting married on a Friday and he's off on Sat/Sun) Smiley sad I do NOT WANT TO SPEND MY WEDDING NIGHT ALONE!

No honeymoon for us either! We have 2 kids and were struggling just to pay for our wedding, so maybe next summer we'll go somewhere or maybe not...oh well, we've been together 6 years and we've had a few nice vacations

We aren't planning on anything right now - just can't afford it. Plus Thanksgiving and then Christmas are right around the corner, so we are definitely better off waiting.

We aren't taking a traditional honeymoon until next Spring ... but we'll be in FL for about 10 days, so we'll still be getting some sun & sand Smiley smile

We stayed one night at the resort we got married at, and then one night at our family cabin with our wedding party. That was it! I honestly felt so happy to get back home. We are going to save up and maybe do something special for our anniversary when we don't have anything to plan!

We will not have enough PTO left for a honeymoon after the wedding plus we want to go to DC which would be so cold in Nov! so we are putting it off till the summer.

we werent even going to take a night at a hotel but it comes with the room rental for the wedding so we are happy.
