Hey is there anyone that just eloped (dw) or courthouse wedding after planning a big wedding? Was it because of budget or just didn't want to do all the planning? My fh is like let's just elope and figure the celebration ouy later. I really don't care either way I'm good I just don't want to keep...

All the time! But I don't want to regret not having a wedding. I've always imagined what my day would be like. Honestly, I'll never do it again, but excited at the same time.

My sister did this. She cut her losses and hit the court house a few weeks ago. Most of it was stress. She was overwhelmed by the fact that she had so many people she felt obligated to invite and some were halfway across the country. She's also the type to go big or go home, so the cost was adding up really fast. On top of all of the planning, she had some issues with her ex husband that costed a pretty penny and tons of extra stress, all while trying to go to school. Totally understandable why she eloped.

I guess you have to decide if the stress and cost is worth it to you. Take into account how much money you'd have to lose. Have a chat with your FH

That's what we're doing. Before, we were looking at at least a $10k, if not a little more, wedding for about 30 guests. After several false starts to wedding planning, we sat down and discussed everything over. Neither of us felt comfortable spending that much money and we kept having to put it off and put it off so we talked to our families and everyone was surprisingly cool with the idea of us eloping so now we're nearly finished with all the planning. We have our officiant. We have our photographer. Now I just need to settle on a H/MUA and a few other minor details and we'll be good to go!
