Anyone heard of Card Avenue registry? Thoughts?

L + A, on July 22, 2014 at 5:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

This is not for me, BTW! I have a good friend getting married in August and I got her invite, and she's registered at BBB (normal) and Card Avenue. I had to look it up because I had never heard of it... I'm not sure what I think. I've already bought her stuff off her registry so I'm not planning on using this.

What do you all think?? www.cardavenue.com is the link if you want to also look it up.

I don't think I actually mind that. It's far more convenient that going to the actual store to purchase a gift card....though I can also see it being construed as requesting cash, since technically that's what a gift card is.

That's what I was thinking... and that you can request them in order of importance could be cool, or it could be considered rude.

But let's be real, I would put Nordstrom on high priority Smiley winking

Yeah I agree with this. To each their own and mostly I wouldn't really mind. But I wouldn't do it for myself.

I am really anti huny funds and asking for cash, but I think this could be a fun idea! I love giving and receiving gift cards, I love that you can register for a gift card to the movies how fun!

Not until now and I'm glad you mentioned this because FH went on a long rant last night how Home Depot should have a wedding registry (in his mind) and that men don't want throw pillows, they want tools blah, blah, blah. So I'm going to make one for him so he calms the hell down.

Obviously, I do not see a problem with this so long as it is an actual store that cards are being requested for and not Visa cards and such.

Well they DO have the option of a Visa card @Di, but mostly it's for stores and such. But I'm glad I can be of service to stop your FH from ranting Smiley smile

I've never heard of it, but that sounds awesome. FH is a carpenter (among his many other talents) and he wants a gift card to Home Depot so badly so he can hold on to it for when we get a house.

I live in a different state then where my friends are having my bridal shower and when I saw this option I loved it. I am not after $ but easier to travel with gift cards then 2-3 suit cases...
