Anyone having trouble getting Refunds?

Hello, due to the pandemic, my now husband and I were planned to get married at Falkirk Estate Country Club, in Central Valley NY. Since we couldn’t have the contracted amount of guests of 150, we had to cancel the wedding. We ended up getting married at home and had our closest family and friends. The problem is the venue is refusing to give us any money back and only offering credits. $13,000. My DJ is giving me the same run around and has $500 of my money.
I have talked to a lawyer and we served the venue with papers. Is anyone having any sort of luck with this nightmare. I just don’t want to give up, and hope I’m not in this alone.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are experiencing the same problem. It's all going to depend on the contract, and honestly, if the vendor has the money.
