We’re heading to Connecticut tomorrow for a wedding, and apparently the majority of the state is without power. There’s no power at the hotel, church, or reception venue. The hotel has a generator in the lobby, but that’s it. Any hotel that does have power is completely booked, so we’re stuck. I guess that I’ll be going down to the lobby to dry and style my hair with their generator. The kitchen at the reception venue runs on propane, so we’ll at least have hot food. The DJ has a generator, so there’ll be music. There won’t, however, be heat. We’re Miamians, we’re wusses when it comes to cold weather as it is, so yes, we’re in panic mode. Maybe I should wear a scarf and gloves to their formal reception…
Is anyone else attending a wedding this weekend in the blackout state? What do you wear to a formal event that isn’t going to have any heat when it’s only going to be about 30 degrees out?
Go figure, they’re expecting to regain power on Sunday, the day that we leave.
