Hi everyone! I hope you all are staying healthy out there. So of course I keep checking the forecast for Tuesday (we are now having our small ceremony on May 5!) and I keep seeing chances of rain. I know at the end of the day we won’t know until the day of, but I wanted to see if any of you had your wedding photos taken in the rain and how you made them cute! I know my photographer will have some ideas, but wanted to see what you all did.

Not wedding pictures but engagement pictures! I’d look for a cute umbrella (we got ours at Target) to use in the pictures. I was so nervous about the weather since it looked like it was going to start pouring any second. We lucked out and it only rained the last 15 minutes or so but some of the umbrella pictures are actually my favorites.

I did engagement photos in Downtown Cleveland while it was raining, though it was misting while we getting pictures taken. It was really nice because there was no one outside and all the photos had perfect natural light! The clear umbrellas would be great for your wedding, they look really cute on camera!

Sure! It rained during our first look photos. Outdoor lighting in rain or clouds is spectacular! No squinty eyes. While it rained, we took photos in the covered patio of our resort suite. We also took photos inside our reception area (wine cave). When it drizzled, we got umbrella photos and also asked our photographer to get some landscape shots (great for home art). Here are a few:

Try to take pics in the rain! They're stunning. Hold up your dress. Use an umbrella. Also ask your venue for covered area location ideas: under a large tree, patio, hotel roof, hotel carport, etc.

Oh my gosh these are stunning! 😍You’re right about the lighting, it looks so good! Maybe this could work to our advantage! Haha. The ones with you holding up your dress are so adorable!!

Aw, thank you! I was a little worried about getting my dress dirty before ceremony but I wish I didn't (who cares if the bottom gets dirty? Nobody will see that!). My photographer was amazing and took several with my skirt fluffed out and he used his own jacket on the ground to get the shots. We had only been to the resort once but there were a few other areas I wish we took photos at anyway (going up the stairs of the resort) but I was worried about the rain and my dress--but those would have been awesome shots with the cloudy sky and I'm sad I don't have any of those stunning "back of the gown with long train looking over my shoulder" shots.
First look photos were my favorites! We were so relaxed and the outdoor rain lighting was perfect. May the rain bless your marriage and your wedding pics.
