Anyone going unique/ vintage/ handmade/ 2nd hand for wedding dress? Show them off!

I just sold an allure dress that had a separate inside liner dress of silk charmeuse with a beaded outside dress. They were two separate dresses and I absolutely loved the silk charmeuse dress (pictured). And that's great she gave you that hanging tip before you hem because I was considering sewing some charmeuse clothing and read the same thing. I don't have the skill to do silky fabrics though so I commend your skill!

That is what I'm thinking of doing. Go shopping to see what style I like but I am also in the process of losing weight. So I don't want to do my shopping too early. I am halfway to my goal. So maybe by the end of the year or beginning of 2022.

I also bought a Stella York dress! Got mine on preownedweddingdresses for $300 and thought that was a good deal - $200 dang - that's truly awesome! I do need a few alterations in order for it to fit, but the lady I found is doing it all for $200. I feel that's an amazing deal since my dress has I believe it was 7 layers...she's also going to bustle it and re-make the privacy panel, shorten it and take it in a little in the bust area.

I knew I was going to have that issue one way or the other (fit my waist and too small on the bust or fit my bust and be really loose in the waist). I fortunately found a good local tailor who will add a corset for around $50 and it's already been altered with a bustle so that's all I will need for a custom fit so I'm happy! I think yours is absolutely beautiful too. I didn't realize all the issues I had with mine until I went to the seamstress. I was hoping it would be less than $200, but she does have more to do than I expected. I can sew....but I would never be able to make my own dress! You ladies on here that are - amaze me! I wish everyone the best of luck with all their dress plans!
