Hi Anna E. I live not to far from Mass and have been to salem plenty of times, as a New Englander we accept crazy weather, especialy in the winter I have seen it be 70 in Febuary and snowing in the begining of April haha so there is a very good chance it will snow if that is what you are afraid of. But with that being said New England / Mass. is verry beautiful in the winter, I love the four seasons (maybe the snow not so much) but I wouldn't be afraid to go to Salem just because of snow, chances are you will have great weather and have a wonderful time and if it snows a little take a nice drive down some back roads and scenic routes, I promise you will get some nice pictures (=

Oh and p.s Salem is an amazing town with so much to do, cool little shops and they are awesome around halloween! The history behind the town is just incredible! Just a little tid bit you might not have known, during the Salem witch trials it has been found that the yeast they were using to make bread was actualy growing in a swamp / marsh type area and the yeast was growing a bacteria that causes hallucinations just like the drug LSD, those girls were all hallucainating and really thought they saw all those women flying into thier rooms and doing witchy stuff (=

I agree with April... I've lived in MA (Boston) for a little over two years and the weather is most def unpredictable! But I think December might just be early enough that it'll be a cold but hopefully no snow... at least I'm hoping for no snow lol

I've been to Salem - its a GREAT place. It will more than likely be cold - like bone chilling cold as any shore town in the Northeast is. :-) If you get a chance take the hours drive over to Plymouth and check out the Pilgrim stuff for the day. Its fun too!

If you enjoy winter weather, Salem will be the perfect place to cuddle up for some cozy and romantic evenings and fun days. However, do be prepared for cold. Layers are always good.

We're going to Salem for our one year, but we're going during October. We also want to stay in the Lizzie Borden house. We're into that kinda stuff! And I'm so excited good choice!

Thanks all for the feedback! We are also very much into that kind of stuff as well. We live in Northeast Pa so I knew it would be cold in Salem but just not sure about the amount of snow to expect. We just didnt want to be shoveling our way through just to walk around to see stuff lol.

April- Thanks for that info..I never knew that!!!
