Anyone getting married in Vegas

Shequia, on December 1, 2019 at 6:22 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
So I love in Philly and my fiance and I decided we liked the idea of getting married in Vegas. Had anyone done this and how was your experience?

No but looking into it. Check some of the venues here. They're nice and not necessarily the seedy chapel I once thought of.

My first marriage was in Vegas. We got married at the little white chapel amd everyone was really nice. I surprised my now ex-husband (thank God! Lol🤷) with the help of the staff who said they were going to rent me a wedding gown the day of so that I could hide in the back and change into a white leather mini skirt with a white bustier some 80's Madonna lace gloves lol (the ones that go around your middle finger 😆) with a white feather boa and some white fishnet stockings and white go go boots (YES the outfit was SUPER cheesy 🤦🤣🙈) I then hired the cheesiest looking Elvis impersonator I could find to walk me down the isle. My bridesmaid also went in to change and wore a long black halter dress that had some silver shimmer to it (think Diana Ross and The Supremes 🤣🤣) with a long slit on the side also with a black feather boa. 😂🤣🤣😭😭

He was not expecting that at ALL but when you're in Vegas 🤷🤷 Viva Las Vegas!! 🤣🤣 we then went to old Vegas to celebrate and had A LOT of people congratulate us and ask us to take pics with them lol.

Try the sugar factory. You can get married there and have a private reception in the Chocolate lounge. We were going to do that originally. For the package we decided on, it was $5,000. That was for 50 people. 3 Apps, 3 entrees, 2 salads, 2 desserts, 3 sides and alcohol. There were was another package that was cheaper and another that was more expensive. But the minimum you gad to spend was $2500 I believe

I live in central PA & am getting married in Vegas this May! It's going to be cheaper than getting married around here.

One day while watching TV we very randomly decided to get married in Vegas. We go to Vegas a lot, so we’re familiar with the hotels (but not from a wedding angle). I did research online into their wedding venues and eliminated a bunch (we wanted a fun Vegas vibe in a unique setting and didn’t want a basic ballroom because we can get that locally). We flew out in May, toured 7 venues and thankfully we easily agreed on the same spot.

I think it’s easier from a planning perspective because many of the hotels include most of the vendors in their packages. Since we don’t live in Vegas, we can’t spend a bunch of time meeting every vendor. So, I preferred it. We’re spending the week of Christmas in Vegas again, so we’ll be able to do a little more in-person planning (but not much is needed because all vendors are booked).
The best thing to do is research online first, view pics and email for package info. Narrow down the venues and schedule to do tours in person. Have an idea of what you want (visually and budget-wise). Then you can cross locations off the list. Otherwise you’ll be overwhelmed trying to view every hotel wedding venue on the strip.
    Happy Planning!

I've seen a few people on here who got married in Vegas and had a great time. They didn't really have anything to complain about and here in Vegas, there's always something to do. There's a lot of gorgeous venues here more than people realize. Of course there are the infamous chapels lol and just about any hotel you can think of. Some other unique venues would be:

    Eiffel Tower

Pirate Ship Wedding at Treasure Island

    Gondola Wedding at the Venetian

    The High Roller Observation Wheel

    The Mob Museum

    Springs Preserve

Under the Sea/Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

    The Neon Museum

Maverick Helicopters Weddings (if 50 guests or less)

    Keep Memory Alive Event Center

    The Artisan

    Brooklyn Bowl

I hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck and happy planning!
