Anyone get married at Elizabeth Park in CT?

Carissa Brittney, on April 12, 2017 at 8:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Has anyone or is anyone planning to have their wedding ceremony at Elizabeth Park in Hartford, Connecticut? If so, what is your backup plan in case it rains?

Not a helpful comment, but I went to school right down the street and I still remember that as one of the prettiest places I've ever been!

I wanted to get married there. FH & I had one of our first dates there. But he's Catholic and it's very important to him to get married in the church. Idk what a plan B could be for that venue, possibly put up canopies or, if you're using the restaurant they have there for the reception you may be able to move the ceremony indoors there.

We aren't doing our reception there, unfortunately, and we aren't allowed to bring in tents. It's so stressful wondering, but it was a very special spot for both of us and we chose it, so now we are praying. There is a little perennial garden gazebo we can marry under, but 50 people wouldn't fit underneath.

We live in town, so if there is an absolute downpour, we can do the ceremony at our home... I'm making inserts for our invites with a: in case of stormy weather...
