Anyone ever heard of $400 wedding photography?

I just have to ask because this has been bugging me. It'd be especially great to hear from the photographers around here. My fiance's brother (who is a known bullshitter in the first place) had some fantastic photography on his wedding day. It consisted of 2 locations (about 20 miles apart) and...

I just have to ask because this has been bugging me. It'd be especially great to hear from the photographers around here. My fiance's brother (who is a known bullshitter in the first place) had some fantastic photography on his wedding day. It consisted of 2 locations (about 20 miles apart) and around 50 edited pictures. She was probably doing around 4 hours of coverage total. No engagements, bridals, photo books, or anything else. The photographer's website states 895 for wedding day only coverage. He claims that he was only charged $400. My fiance believes him but I've searched all over the place and the cheapest I found was $600 and she wasn't that great. Does anyone know if 400 for this would be reasonable? Just curious.

I cant believe yall are finding photographers for under 1,000! i could not find any under 2,000 and we are pay more than that because i wanted all the unedited raw files. but be careful because you tend to get what you pay for!

I think it depends on where you live. Photos here are so expensive you would never find a deal like that so I wouldn't believe anyone from here telling me that. If it doesn't include anything but wedding pictures it might be true maybe he got a really good deal, I know some photographers want the business and agree to lower the price.

From the research I have done, only amateur photographers or new photographers will charge $400 for day of wedding coverage. Where I live (northern VA), an established photographer STARTS at $2000 and goes up from there. The ones closer to DC or Baltimore start at $3000. I guess it depends on their experience and your location.

Definitely not here in NJ..good quality is at least 10x that. If I got a bid for $400, there's no way I'm hiring them
