Anyone else useless at work?

Sasha, on July 29, 2019 at 4:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

I've been trying to do a very simple task since noon today and now it's 4:30. I spoke with bm's over text, to the best man over phone, added things to the registry, browsed several forums, looked at furniture rental, but I really need to focus or I'm going to lose all my clients. Anyone else have tips on how to compartmentalize and still get actual work done?

I'm having the exact same problem. I keep two notebooks at my desk, one for work tasks that need to be done and one for wedding/house related stuff I need to do when I get home. I spend so much time obsessing over the wedding and new house that I'm getting zero work done. I don't have any tips unfortunately. I was fine up until this week.

This might sound kinda brash, but think of it like this: if you lose your job, you can't pay for your wedding anymore!

I had a similar issue. I made sure to get all of my main work tasks done once I came into the office. It worked *most* of the time.

Ahah oh my god yes. I think it's because wedding stuff can very easily occupy your thoughts so even at work it was hard to not think about it

No advice, but I'm definitely in the same boat!

I start the day with a purpose & try to keep the momentum going. It’s always easy for me to stay going rather than try to start & stop.

I've always been a checklist person. Before I end the work day, I prepare a checklist for tomorrow. Getting the list done one way or another is my motivation.

Set your phone on do not disturb and keep wedding chatter down while at work so your brain doesn't go to wedding world. Good luck.

I have no advice but really happy to know i am not alone! I've sent exactly 40 emails today and i'm just over it. Cant focus and would rather be doing anything but working. it doesn't help that i received my engagement photos yesterday so reallllllly want to be looking at save the date and invitation styles but am forcing myself not to.
