Anyone else Stitch Fix?? (Online Personal Shopper??)

MN Kate, on October 31, 2015 at 11:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

I have been struggling finding outfits for upcoming showers and dinners. Today I sucked it up and I scheduled another Stitch Fix! It is suppose to arrive on November 19th which is perfect timing!!! I hoping they do as good of a job as they did last time. Had anyone else done stitch fix? How are you all handling not spending too much on outfits for all the pre-wedding festivites!??? ETA.....Title and spelling.

I just got a Fix this week! Before getting engaged, I was MOH in 2 weddings, so I asked for outfits I could wear to both bridal showers and bachelorette parties, and they delivered! Since getting engaged, I haven't asked them to give me anything for the wedding since I have so much time. I'm actually due to get my next one the day before yours, and since it's getting cold, I just asked them to focus on sweaters and other fall/winter clothing. I actually have a white crochet dress I got from them a few months ago that I never wound up wearing, and I plan to wear it for when we take our E-pics in the spring.

I didn't use it, but my mom did. My mom used it for two boxes to augment her wardrobe -- she normally shops at Macys, LOFT, Anthropologie, Banana Republic, etc. She just found the fabrics to be pretty cheap and despite using Pinterest and writing a detailed review of her first Fix, they never really caught on to what she was going for, but it's awesome if it worked for you!

I'm going to try out Women's Trunk Club, because I've heard good things about it -- but it's ridiculously hard!

I tried StitchFix three times and hated it. I gave them my pinterest link and gave detailed reviews for the first two fixes and the third was still awful. Example- I said that I hated boatnecks and the next fix had three shirts with boatnecks.

I just signed up because my sister had a great experience with them over the last few months! My fix is expected next week. :-)

I have. I'm not a huge fan. My first fix, I asked for everyday clothes. I kept 2 pieces, the rest were just overpriced. To be perfectly honest, so were the two that I kept but I did really like them. I gave it another try about 2 months ago because I was having a hard time finding something to wear to a wedding. I specifically said I need fancy evening dresses for a wedding. They sent me one white dress and a bunch of daytime dresses. I was annoyed because they clearly didn't read anything. When you say it's for a wedding, who sends a white dress? So, I won't be ordering from them again. I only tried the 2nd time because I was really desperate. I'd rather shop online at my usual stores and in person.

I received a total of 3 boxes and kept one item from each box. I got a great striped dress and a black blazer, both of which have become staples in my closet. But I stopped getting them because I wasn't super impressed with the quality of the items for the price. I'm also thinking about giving Women's Trunk Club a shot.

@3Lol....What is Women's Trunk Club. Is it kinda the same idea as Stitch Fix. Honestly, I liked my first stitch, with that being said I only kept 1 item. A couple items i didn't care for and 1 absolutely didn't fit. But the dress I kept was perfect and I have definitely worn it to many occasions and for e-pics so definitely worth it. I do find some items are ridiculously over priced, my hope is to always find 1 piece that I love so it doesn't seem like a waste.

I love stitch fix. I have gotten 6 or 7 fixes now and it is so much fun. It's not easy for me to find pants and every pair I have gotten from them are perfect and I love them. I have asked for cute patterned dresses for different things like engagement pictures and parties and they always send the cutest stuff.

I'm a fan of Stitch Fix, I just wish they started carrying sizes for taller women! A lot of the tops I've received I had to send back because they were too short on my torso. I stopped getting fixes several months ago and until I see they change their size selection, I won't start up again. But, it is a great service and I felt as though the stylist selected pieces that really fit my style!

@MN Kate - Trunk Club is a service run by Nordstrom, it's kind of like Stitch Fix in that you fill out a short online survey and then are connected with a stylist. But the Trunk Club stylist will contact you either by phone or email (whichever you check you prefer). So it's definitely more personal. There's also no styling fee and you have 10 days to decide if you want to keep anything.

My FH has done the men's version twice and they send a TON of stuff. In his last box he got 2 coats, 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of pants, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 belt, 4 button up shirts, 2 sweaters, and 2 t-shirts. He's kept 2 items from each of his boxes, but if he had an unlimited budget would have kept a lot more each time--they really nailed his style and size.

The inventory is all from Nordstrom, so they are undoubtedly more expensive than Stitch Fix, but from what I've seen the quality is also way, way better.

I absolutely LOVE getting my Stitch Fix box every month! I try to focus on items of clothing I really need and honestly... Their jewelry isn't worth it. I paid almost $40 for cheap gold plated necklaces about 3 months ago and they're already discolored. I paid $2 for cheap necklaces on Wish and they still haven't discolored. Anyway. I love the clothes they send me. II try to limit myself to 1 item every month. Their pants are a rip off too.... Way too expensive for such cheap quality.

I've only ever gotten one box. I loved everything in it but only kept one shirt. I do think its overpriced and although it's fun I like the thrill of finding a great deal! I have friends that get them regularly and love it! Just not for me.

I had 3 boxes- and I kept something from the first one and the last one- I really liked NOT having to go anywhere- I personally HATE business wear shopping (which is the reason I set it up). My middle box was okay- but I was flat broke- I hated the price- it is exceptionally expensive for my tastes- I tend to do most of my shopping at Tjmaxx- but the stuff I Got was nice- and not stuff I would have picked out- so it was nice to have the variety. I liked that about it. I was forced to try it on b/c it was there- and why not.

But again- TJMaxx- I'm in there for workout clothes all the time (I do NOT have a problem!!!)- so I try to grab one or two things every few months to help keep me from looking to stale at work.

@AlexisM082 - never heard of Wish but I just spent the last 20 minutes on there.... and I'm like shut up and take my money lol

I wish Stitch Fix worked out better for me... I've only gotten a couple pieces I like, and honestly I find a lot of the stuff overpriced.

I have tried Stitch Fix several months ago and it was awful! They didn’t meet my expectations at all. Just like Sarah Kat, I gave them my Pinterest link but what they gave me in return was so far from what I wanted. My sister tried another stylist, http://www.marikapage.com/personal-shopper/ and it was beautiful, I actually envied her a bit. So I might try that instead next time.
