Anyone else making their bouquets out of silk flower's?

I am making my bouquets out of silk flower's and I am running into the issue of the stems being so skinny it doesn't give the "thick" look. Anyone know how to fix this??

Thanks! Yeah, I am getting mine from Hobby Lobby, too. I just went today and looked around at the different options. My options were, either to go with the ones that are a "fatter" stem but not as open of a rose. Or, a more open stem and a skinny stem. SO I don't know what to do because I like the look of the open rose for a bouquet.

Here is the one I like, but not sure how to make the stems look thicker.

Here is the one with the more "closed" rose but thicker stem. A bit of a price difference, too.

After I finished putting my flowers together, wrapping with florist tape, I wrapped the bottom with felt first (it gave it the full look and also hid any "valves" in the stems, giving it a smooth/even look) then I wrapped the base with my ribbon.

I’m making my daughters bridal bouquet with silk flowers. I bought mine at Hobby Lobby. The problem is the stems are different colors and sizes. I’m not sure if I should try to hide the stems completely or if it’s ok that they’re different.

I'm a silk bouquet florist and I use straws around my stems to make them appear thicker or they also work as a good spacer so you use less flowers if anyone is interested in silk bouquets my website is www.weddingbouquetsetc.com or Facebook Sami Marney from wa. Thanks
