Anyone else have illusion mesh issue??

Erika, on October 27, 2018 at 8:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
Ok first let me start by saying I love my dress. The illusion back is one of my favorite parts of the dress.
Here's the problem: I've had to reorder the dress TWICE because the illusion mesh tore/ripped a bit. The first time it came in, I'm fairly sure it was like that before I put the dress on to see. I spoke with the manager and she apologized and reordered it. Luckily I have time but I went home sad and empty handed. About three weeks ago I went to pick up my dress - for the second time. It was in perfect condition. My maid of honor and I checked it thoroughly. Well later when I got home with it there was a small, dime-sized hole!!! I was so upset and baffled as to how this can keep happening. I went to the store for my bridesmaids last week and told my consultant. She spoke with the manager and they decided to reorder again.
So I'm glad they aren't charging me for this but how can it be so fragile?! I mean ice skaters, dancers and wrestlers wear mesh, right? Lol
Just wondering if anyone else has had an issue similar to mine. I'm so worried about picking it up and there being another issue- or worse- tearing on our wedding day. It makes me sad. I have until April but feel like it might be too late to look for another dress. Plus, I really don't want to get another dress. This is my dress. 😩
Thanks for taking the time to read. I just needed to get it off my chest.

I would speak to the place where you got the dress from and see if there’s a way to reinforce it or what they would do if it were to happen closer to your wedding.

Hi Erika! I can 100% guarantee your tulle train, train right?, should not have a round hole. If anything is may just get a tiny snag or something on your wedding day. Not a hole unless you walk over something sharp. I'm dio glad your bridal salon is being cooperative. Check your gown at least 2-3 times before leaving the salon next time. Just in case. Your gown is beautiful and looks beautiful on you!! I love it!! Best wishes.

Hi Victorian Bride! It was actually on the illusion back part, nothing on the train that I noticed. Even so, I think you're right- it shouldn't be happening. Yes, I'm thankful the salon has really been great. Not sure what I'd do otherwise!
Great idea to double/triple check next time!!! I thought I was looking thoroughly but I guess not! Can't hurt.
    Thank you so much!

I did not have an illusion back on my dress, but a few years ago I was a bridemaid where we wore dresses with the mesh you are talking about around our midsections. Every bridesmaid had this mesh tear before the ceremony and we're talking about girls that wear a size 4. That left a sour taste in my mouth when it came to looking for dresses.

Hi Victoria! Wow. I feel a little better that it must be the material. That must've been frustrating though! What did you do? Or was is small enough not to notice?
I wish I had known how delicate it is prior to dress shopping.

Sadly there was nothing we could do but hold our flowers in front of us, which luckily didn't look odd to guests because it was a wedding after all. The tears were noticeable but by the time the reception started we were all, including the bride, able to laugh it off. Mine was first to tear though and I was devastated at first!

Oh my goodness!! I'm glad you all pulled it off with the flowers. That's great that you could laugh it off - including the bride!!! I can only hope to have that much grace. Yikes, I couldn't imagine how it felt being the first to have your dress tear!
