Anyone else have a super casual proposal?

DH proposed in our house while our daughter was napping. I was sitting on the couch, still in my pajamas and hadn't even brushed my teeth yet. He came to "show me something he found outside". And got down on one knee. Lol! He said he had bigger plans but just couldn't wait. It was really cute and I ugly cried so it was better to be alone.

First time he put it on the seat of the car for when I got back in, I sat on it. Second time, (we called off the first) I had just finished cleaning the kitchen and he came in with it and said "here, d'you wanna put this back on?" I asked, "are you sure?" He said "pretty sure" I smacked him playfully on the shoulder and here we are... we're not a very romantic couple, more playfully sarcastic.

That's pretty much how mine went, lol.

DH proposed to me while brushing his teeth. He wasn't even in the same room with me.... he was in the bathroom. I was in the bedroom. He said (with a mouth full of toothpaste) we should get married (we had been together for 18 years and I said I wanted to have am official wedding ceremony). After the ceremony, I asked him to get on one knee so we have a "she said yes" photo after the wedding ceremony!

I have a 4 year old from a previous relationship and i was about 3 months pregnant. The only way i could get the older one to nap was to take one with her. While i was napping he went to a pawn shop and got a ring. When he came back he woke me up and said hed just gotten back, confused and still half asleep i asked where from and then he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. Of course i said yes and hugged and kissed him then i asked if i was dreaming and he jokingly said he could take the ring back to which i freaked and said no lol. It wasnt anyrhing fancy but it was sweet and cute and a little silly just like us. I had been telling him for months to just go get a ring from a pawn shop because theyre just as good as a new ring at a much cheaper cost. I think as long as youre happy with how he did it thats all that matters

DH attempted to have a cute proposal out and about on a date, but I said something that put him off of the location (we were at one of the California missions, and I was lamenting various bits of the history of the missions), so he withheld it. Oops.

Post-date, we're home, I'm immediately half-naked in my PJs, and he carries on with the proposal while we're watching TV on the couch. I still cried haha.

@OP almost the same! FH made a nice dinner at home after I got back from a trip and then he proposed afterwards. I do have a picture of the set up, he had balloons and pictures of us printed out all over our bedroom. It was really simple, but he put thought into it and I loved it!

I planned a quick trip for us to a town a few hours away for fun. We had a nice dinner and walked around the town and sitting on a bench by the river, FI proposed. He had the ring in his pocket the whole trip but had no specific plans how he'd do it (as neither of us had been to this town before) so he just did it when he felt it was right. It was perfect and simple. No pictures (other than selfies, lol) and it wasn't an elaborate affair.

Yea fh proposed in bed, we just woke up. It was our anniversary.

H proposed while we were sitting in bed in our pajamas on vacation in London. I honestly would have hated a big public proposal, I don't like attention on me.

FH proposed in our house. I had just walked in from watching my niece and he was standing in the foyer and then got down on one knee. It wasn't a huge romantic gesture but it was perfect because it was our new home and a great first memory in our home.

I can never be surprised, like really I figure EVERYTHING out so I remember telling my H that if he was surprise me one day it had to be on a random Tuesday when I least expected it. Well he listened and on a Tues in Dec I was at work and I had just gotten back from a work trip and was freaking out because it was my moms bday an two days til Christmas and had done no shopping. He lied to me and said he was driving an hour away to see his grandparents. So I didn't rush to be home and went to the mall. It was raining and I put my hair up in a messy bun. For some reason I was so sad lol I went to two malls before my cousin who was visiting asked me to come home. So I did..I opened the door my Christmas tree was on all the lights were off. My puppy came running with a scarf on that said "Will you marry me?" My now H was kneeling with the ring. It was soo sweet and I was so surprised!

Dh and I were talking about if we had a wedding when would it take place. I told him a lot of places booked over a year in advance, which he didn't know so he got scared we wouldn't be able to have a September wedding. He booked venue tour appointments a few days after that. So i guess that was his way of asking and me agreeing to the trip was my yes lol

I walked in the door from a long day of work and he was sitting at the kitchen table waiting for me. There's a long elaborate plan that he wanted to do to propose but it didn't work out. It still happened the same night and the fact that his plan got screwed up makes it even more special (just typical of us that things never go to plan). We had no photos of the proposal or any cute selfies. It would have been nice to have them but I wouldn't change anything the way it happened

My FBIL proposed while he and his wife were sitting on the couch. He just turned to her and asked while they were watching tv.

My grandpa told my grandma to take his class ring off and to put the e ring on instead while she was driving their truck.

My fiance and I got engaged while sitting in a hammock at camp. No one was around, we were talking about our future, and I thought he was joking.

Each proposal story is so different and unique. Casual proposals are in no way inferior to the big grand gestures. All of them mean the same thing and all of them symbolize a big transition in a relationship.

I was proposed to in our garage lol in fairness, I came home way later than he thought so his plan went out the window. Still perfect!

I knew he was going to propose that night, but he planned it. I onky knew because (1) it was important to him to ask my family and his family before for their blessings, (2) it was *extremely* important to me for him to ask my friends (I'm not close to my family, so I hold my friends closer.), and (3) I have anxiety issues. We went to a nice dinner and our favorite park. He had written a speech in a card, got on one knee, got up and changed knees because he thought he did it wrong, and proposed with a $10 ring we both picked from Wal-Mart earlier in the week because he said it was important to him to have a ring. We got a "real" one a few months later. I got blisters from my shoes, so we left soon after and took a selfie in a streetlight at the park.

It was perfectly us, even though we had a lot of people ask if I was disappointed that it wasn't extravagant. I loved every second of it. We laugh at everything and we're total dorks. Plus he respected me enough to set up meeting my friends in person and ask them for their blessing, which again was really important to me.

We were hanging out at his dad and step moms house on a Saturday night. I was sitting on the floor and FH was sitting on the chair behind me rubbing my shoulders. He slipped the box into my hand. He says he asked me to marry him but I froze and don't remember. It was laid back, and fit us.

FH proposed to me while I was sitting on the couch, drinking my morning coffee in my pajamas. He set the ring in my lap and just casually asked if I wanted to get married lol

FH proposed right after sex, and we went back to drinking wine and watching The Bourne Identity in his apartment. He was naked as the day he was born when he got down on one knee (quite a sight!)

So, no, we don't have any photos -- and we tend to give a very vague, PG version when prompted to share the proposal story (:
