Anyone else eloping?

We didn't elope, per se (since elopement means only the couple in attendance), but we did have a micro destination wedding (less than 40 people). We had a blast and we were really happy with our choice to keep it small and intimate, rather than a big traditional wedding! Have you starting planning yet?

Did you find a source of wedding chapels in your area? Las Vegas certainly has its share. Some came up for Calfiornia, but mostly the search is a bit tricky to get good results.

View Quoted Comment My fiance actually found an "itty-bitty," "short and sweet" chapel about an hour away from us. It is very similar to the Las Vegas experience. You're allowed 6 guests, digital pictures, and is priced same as the court house. I'd say it's a pretty awesome deal for an elopement package.

That sounds like a cozy deal. Most of the Vegas ones seemed to prepare for more guests in general. Don't really want too big of a chapel for a handful of people.

We eloped! It was absolute perfection, highly recommend.

We are! Sort of. We picked a beautiful place a couple hours from us - where neither of us had been before, and A Lot of people get married there. We are in California. I think we will have 1 other couple, maybe 2 with us. So, kind of eloping.
It’s still a bit more work than I thought, but I’m having fun with it.

Etsy has beautiful arrangements too that aren’t real, but really pretty and they’d last forever. Which is also how I’m going. We have the cake topper, and after looking at wedding cakes that are $200 for a 6 or 8 inch cake I said forget this. I’ll preorder one from the Supermarket, and have them put it on at the restaurant where we’re gonna have dinner. Plain white cake works for me.
