Hi Everyone!

I've not been on here in a very long time. So much going on in the world, and especially our lives. We are all dealing with a pandemic, fires, hurricanes, and the stress of everyday life. So grateful for this forum and my WW friends. ❤

Well, the path to marriage has not been easy. We have been trying to marry since April **** Many of you know this. Life has gotten in the way. First, my mother passed, my father had to have FOUR surgeries ( including open heart), then my fiancé's mother became ill and he became her full-time caregiver ( for 2 years), my service dog, my beloved Gaston, passed away in June **** and now my FMIL has recently passed. We have dealt with much sadness mixed with our joy.
I'm of Irish decent so we planned to elope to Ireland in May **** It's not working out with covid-19 and a possible 14 day quarantine upon arrival in Dublin, even next Spring. Simply too iffy. The Gothic castle was gorgeous, indeed, and perfect for the Victorian themed wedding we desire. Now we'll save it for a vow renewal.
So,...... drum roll please..... we have plans in place to elope to Jamaica!! We will have a sunset ceremony at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort in an over the water gazebo, possibly the one shown with the lace draped chairs, pictured. Have to sneak in our Victorian touches. Smiley winking Our wedding date is April 9, **** I pray that from this time forth everything falls into place. We have been patient.
I'd love to hear your stories as we all stick together in this difficult time. Best of luck and lots of love to each and every couple. 💕❤ xoxocfb_1428737.jpg

Kristi, are you wearing a veil? I'm a veil designer and I'm wearing a Monarch length veil. I just watched a video at "our" gazebo and the wind was blowing so hard the bride's veil looked ridiculous. I need to discuss this with the wedding planner when I have my appt. Ha! Ha! Glad I saw that video. I'm still wearing my veil, but I don't know what's going to happen now. 😂

No I am not wearing a veil. I had heard that the wind was pretty steady in the over water gazebos too. I am not even sure what kind of dress I am going to wear lol Nothing super formal

My gown is super formal, enormous ballgown with a cathedral train, as we were originally supposed to be married in my fiancé's early ****s church that his family founded, with over 200 guests. Our original reception was to be held in an equally old Southern mansion. So I bought what would have been appropriate for those locales. Somehow I'll make it. Lol! Maybe I'll be lucky and the wind will take a break for that little bit of time. Right!😂 I need to find a good lip stain otherwise my lipstick will be all over my blusher. Lol! And dragging this on a plane is going to be fun!! 🙃
There are so many lovely gowns, in all colors, and styles. I know you'll find one you love. Remember if purchasing from a bridal salon and it needs to be ordered, you really should begin looking now. Have fun shopping!! Can't wait to see what you choose.

Thank you for your confidence! ❤ We've changed resorts since I wrote this discussion. Ha! Ha! We found a more secluded resort that has more of the Victorian vibe we want for our wedding. We are definitely excited. xx
