Anyone driving themselves to the ceremony site?

I know I've been posting A LOT lately but I got one more question for y'all. We're getting married at a hotel. The cost for 3 night's stay at the hotel is $ 565. I've been worried because some of my VIPs have been hesitant at booking hotel rooms because of cost. I've already told them to stay...

I know I've been posting A LOT lately but I got one more question for y'all. We're getting married at a hotel. The cost for 3 night's stay at the hotel is $ 565. I've been worried because some of my VIPs have been hesitant at booking hotel rooms because of cost. I've already told them to stay wherever is most affordable but I worry that they will procrastinate and wait until the last minute to book a room. I'd like to note that my FH's family booked their travel and accommodations pretty much the week we put our deposit down on the venue. They are staying at a hotel nearby.

I found a rental on VRBO that for 2 nights, would cost $ 557 including the cleaning fee and it includes 3 rooms/6 beds. I was thinking about booking it so that I can ensure my VIPs have a place to stay for 2 nights. If I do this, I was planning on staying with them since I seriously doubt that anyone will pitch in to pay for this rental and I don't want to pay for my room on top of the rental. We will each be driving ourselves to the wedding. On top of that, we won't be having a "drive away". We will be saying good bye to our guests as they leave...then walk upstairs to our room at the inn.

We're planning on getting an Uber, just because I don't want to drive. But it isn't weird to drive yourself!

We are driving ourselves. our reception is at a hotel and we are staying there/getting ready there/taking photos there, so i didn't see the need to rent transportation for a ten minute drive to the church.

We are not renting a limo. I haven't worked out details but we will each have plenty of options for people to ride with, and we have a shuttle to the hotel booked that evening for our guests that we could also take.

We're getting ready at the hotel and then I'll ride with my mom or brother (both have red sports cars). Too bad the top will have to be up, don't want to mess up my hair!

When you are on a budget, limo is one of the easiest things to cut!

Nothing wrong with driving yourself, carpooling or scheduling an uber/lyft/cab

DH and I drove together the whole day and I still thought it was really special because it was our wedding day!

I will drive myself (or ride with my family) and then my FH will drive there later with his family. We might have to leave on car there to ride home together and then we will just go get it the next day in an uber.

Our hotel is about ten minutes from the venue. I'll be ubering to the venue with my bridesmaids/friends/whoever comes early for hair and makeup and FH will uber separately with his groomsmen closer to the "need to be ready" time. If you drive yourselves to the ceremony/reception and you aren't able to leave your car there/don't have someone to take it home for you, you'll have to be super cognizant of how much you're drinking. I plan on having a drink glued to my hand all night and so does FH so we could never. After the reception, we'll both uber to either an afterparty or back to our hotel. We thought the costs to rent a car for twenty minutes was ridiculous but uber is fine.

IMHO - I think the rental could get weird. Why can't your VIPs pay for their own room/rental? Or pitch in for someone they're staying?

We ar contemplating it. The hotel I will be staying at the night before is less than 10 minutes from our venue, where we will have both the ceremony and reception.

We are driving ourselves to the ceremony, our budget is not going to allow transportation for us so we will just drive ourselves.

I'm driving because my ceremony and reception are at the same place. Who's going to see me in a limo? It's a waste of money if everything is at the same place.

I'm having my sister drive me & mom to the venue where everyone's getting ready. FH will be driving himself so we can leave in his car after.

I'm driving all the bridesmaids to the venue to get ready. We have a trolley picking up all the guests and will be taking us all home. We rented a beach house 3 miles from the venue so it's not a big deal.
