Anyone do/planning on a joint father/daughter & mother/son dance?

Yeah, FH really didn't want to be up there by himself for the mother/son so he suggested we do both the parent dances together. We will be dancing to "In My Life" by The Beatles.

I'm doing this as well! I'm letting my MIL pick the song so she feels more included in the process and that this is something special still despite being a co- dance.

We have been considering this. Neither my FH or my father are big dancers. Neither one of them likes too much attention on them, so we are considering a joint dance to take some of the attention off them.

We're not doing any dancing. But as a guest, I always appreciate when these two are done jointly rather than separately. There is only so much watching other people dance while sitting quietly that I can do.

Just curious though - is your dad on board with this? Mine wouldn't be happy about sharing our dance

We are doing one! Honestly I kind of wish we could skip it but my fiance's mother is really looking forward to it so we're including it. I was thinking either I Hope You Dance or Let It Be.

If he doesn't want to, don't make him. It's his wedding, not his mother's.

As a guest, I prefer it when the dances are done at one time (or skipped entirely). Dances are not fun for the guests to watch.

We are deciding what we are going to do! Ive been thinking start with just me and dad (maybe 30 seconds, minute max) then FH and FMIL join, then we either finish together or dad and I leave them for 30 seconds or so to be alone on the floor. We'll be deciding and working on this with the DJ and planner as well as the parents in the dance!

I'm also not a huge fan of long dances focused on just us so I'd like to honor the tradition but make it our own and also avoid the awkwardness I'm anticipating.

That being said we are still working on a song but have a long time to decide still!
