I just had a make up trial today of which I paid $100. It was a disaster. I was way too nice and told the make up artist I liked it but I visibly looked uncomfortable

I look nothing like the pictures. There was wayyyy too much concealer and highlight etc. than is natural . I looked like ‘make up’ very unnatural.
Has anyone else struggled with this? Anyone do their own make up during their wedding? I’m an intermediate in make up and own most decent make up items, but I’m afraid I’m falling into the bandwagon of ‘you need a make up artist or your make up won’t last all day’. Any advise is appreciated Help!

If you do your normal makeup on a regular day and still look nice when you get home from work you will be absolutely gorgeous at your wedding.

That said, if you want to try something new for your wedding I would recommend you try it several times on yourself before the wedding. You absolutely do not need a makeup artist.

Thank you so much. A make up artist is something I just assumed every bride should have that’s why I paid the $100 but I think I prefer to look like myself! I’ll miss the classic eye shot lol but that’s ok! I’d rather invest the $200+ in High end make up products and practice for an attainable look! Lesson learnt

Many brides do you own make up. Try it out on yourself and see if you life the look and if you do then do it for your day. Sorry the trial did not work out.
