Anyone been to Kauai in December?

Oooh I loveee Kauai! All the islands can get a little rainy in December but I just love Kauai! I live on Oahu and there are definitely rainy days...but it's usually nothing too annoying to handle. At most you'll get maybe one day of all rain but it's never too bad. However my aunt and uncle go every year at Christmas to Kona on the Big Island and love it. It isn't as rainy there! If you would like any recommendations on Hawaii let me know, I've been to all of the major islands and would be happy to help!

We went to Kauai on Jan 1st last year, so pretty close. It was a little breezy, the tides apparently can be pretty rough that time of year over some of the island. It was gorgeous though, and the breeze allowed us to do some amazing hiking.

Thank you for the quick responses! We thought about the Big Island because I know the weather would be better, but I think that is a little more than we want to handle in 5 days. I have seen pictures of the north shore of Kauai, Waimea Canyon etc and just know that is the place we want to be!

The Hyatt is going to be our splurge so for Maui we are planning on rent a condo at Honua Kai close to Lahaina. So excited!

A friend of mine lives on KauaI - if you want restaurant recommendations or anything like that, I can see what she recommends.

That would be great! Breakfast is probably going to be included with our package, but if she has something for lunch or dinner that would be great! Looking more mostly some low key or local places (we love a good happy hour), but would probably like to have 1-2 nice dinners.

I was there years ago for Christmas, the weather is fine. It will sprinkle rain daily but nothing so major that it stops whatever activities you have planned. It is a beautiful island and my fav. Enjoy!!
