Anyone attended a yacht wedding?

FH and I have decided on an outdoor setting for our wedding. We've explored a few arboretum-style venues and finally came to the conclusion we LOVE the idea of water and the boat. Going to visit a few sites next week, but I'm just curious if anyone has attended a wedding held on a boat, and what were the great things about it V.S. some things that were more problematic and less desirable. (I'm aware seasickness is always a factor but I would hope notice in advance should alleviate most of those issues). Would love to hear any experiences..

There are two users that had weddings on a boat: HCTY and Elyse. HCTY is in her honeymoon right now, but she'll probably post a BAM in a week or two, check it out to see how her experience was. And here's Elyse's BAM:

I've officiated several weddings on boats.

A couple of them were on the Marina Jack II in Sarasota Bay (so, smooth waters).

Another I officiated on a small boat before it left the dock (I didn't stay on the boat for the ride).

A couple renewed their vows on a rather small boat (fortunately, no guests). The photographer and I were jockeying for position.

Another was just the couple (no guests) on a parasailing boat. After the ceremony, the couple went up in the air (I did not).

    Fortunately, I don't get seasick.

Yacht wedding, heck yeah! Last month my husband and I traveled to Miami for a Yacht party. It was AMAZING! there was a buffet, a bar, a chandelier, inside dinner seating and amazing views.

Very fancy and I didn't feel like it was moving or anything like that.

The only bad things was that there was a lot of people there and not that many restrooms. So keep in mind the restroom situation and who will be cleaning the restrooms, because since there were only a few they got dirty really fast. Anyways, I totally think you should do it! so unique! - BEST OF LUCK, Steph Smiley smile

@Ashley, we have 45 guests, 3 BMs and 3 Groomsman which is prob pushing it really for the size of the ceremony deck but we are gonna make it work! We are on the smallest of this companys yacht but they have bigger ones for larger parties that look really nice!

l will prob get some of the patches but we sail on the intercostal and not the ocean so hopefully we will be good!

I love the idea but I wouldn't want to be stuck there. Not everyone wants to or can stay for an entire reception. Just something to.keep in mind if you would be cruising thru the evening.

Yes, I had attended my friend's wedding on a beautiful yacht. Before his wedding, he had planned to buy his own yacht. As we know that wedding on a yacht offers a multitude of options for the bride and groom, so he had purchased a beautiful private yacht for his wedding, which was shipped by the yacht transport companies in California. And then the big day came, we all had attended his wedding, his yacht was decorated so beautifully and we all had enjoyed and took lots of incredible photos.
