Anybody doing a ceremony dress and reception dress?

ARIEL, on May 31, 2019 at 11:03 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I honestly think I want 2 dresses. A traditional wedding dress and a custom sexy reception dress. I was thinking if I spent under 1,000 for my wedding dress then I can justify a 300 dollar custom dress. Am I crazy? Anybody else doing 2 dresses? helppppppp

I don't think that's crazy, a lot of people do outfit changes for their wedding. i am not doing that for mine but i can totally see the appeal of doing so. wedding dresses can be hard to walk and move around in especially if yours is tight or large, so if you change into something short and sexy or just overall easier to move in at the reception, it sounds a lot more freeing.

I decided not to do a reception dress just for the fact I spent so much money on my wedding dress I want to get the full worth out of it before it gets put away to never be worn again

Yup! But I had two separate events three months apart. If you have the budget, why not? I think to have two bridal looks on your wedding day is fabulous.

I've gone back and forth over this, but finally decided yes, I want two dresses. I'll more likely change mid-reception, though, rather than at the beginning. I want our entrance photos to be in *the* dress.

You're not crazy! Lots of brides have two dresses. If budget allows, don't let anyone stop you Smiley smile

I'm seriously thinking of doing it. Quite a few people said that I know say that they wished that done so. Also, we are having the afterparty at a hotel bar & I don't want to wear my wedding dress there - but I still want to look bridal.

I think that's justifiable if you can find the ceremony dress for under $1,000! Idk if i tried any on under $1,000! Mine was $2,000, over my budget by $500. If you aren't super picky about the ceremony dress I think it'll work.

I found a gorgeous dress on BHLDN for 850. It is so perfect. I've only seen people with it on and I love it even more. They have an actual store close to me but I'm not ready to try on dresses ( a whole other topic lol).

AHHH thanks everyone!!! I think I'm most likely going to do two. I really love the thought of wearing a custom long backless slip dress with rhinestone straps.

You've got time! That store was my next stop if I hadn't found my dress but I did! The closest one to me was philly. I paused for awhile and didn't feel ready to try on dresses. You'll get there!

I Wore to dresses in my wedding and don’t regret it because with the main gown I barely could move and we have a Bridesmaid and bride dance, so I needed something comfortable to move.

I think this is a great idea in theory and I totally understand why people do it, but I just can’t. I want to wear my actual wedding dress for as long as possible. 🥰
