Any way to "tone down" these chairs besides covers?

Tina, on July 15, 2019 at 5:25 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 29
Not the end of the world for me and I've accepted the horrible swirly carpet, but these are the chairs at my venue. I'm having both my ceremony and reception at the same location so these red type chairs will be used for both. My colours are spring pastels of ivory, mint, and lavender. The red just stands out so much! I don't feel like spending big dollars on chair covers but wondered if anyone thought of a way to tone down the chairs? Like tulle ribbon or a sash? I worry more about the ceremony and pics of a sea of red....am I overthinking? 🙂

Honestly nobody but the bride really cares about seats. I couldn't tell you what any seats looked like at weddings I've attended.
Ours looked like your chairs and we left them as is. I personally think bows or sashes just draws more attention to them. If you're completely against the chairs as is then I would recommend covers.

I'd probably get chair covers myself... I guess depends on how many guests.

Check this place out - .99/cover. I got a bunch of supplemental stuff from them. https://tableclothsfactory.com/products/white-polyester-banquet-chair-covers?variant=46998343887&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyLDpBRCxARIsAEENsrLfUAUgiMwouFiWs8mKdqPSJia6hqg42hgvod8HAR-eh3SEBbxf32gaAseVEALw_wcB

I know I know, I'm over thinking! Lol I already talked myself out of an aisle runner so I'm doing good so far. I think because I'm finally happy with my outfit I'm turning towards the venue.

Those prices are good! I don't love chair covers but I don't hate them either. I'll see what fh thinks of those!

Lol im laughing because one of my MUST HAVE items in tour reception is gold chairs. I cant stand the banquet/convention/meeting room chairs. I suggest chair covers because that red is loud lol too bad it doesnt match with your color scheme. Try tableclothfactory.com as pp mentioned but also try efavormart.com they have a 20% off sale. I bought my table linens and napkins because it saved me $200 instead of renting them, they have chair covers and sashes/bows on their site. Also on another note: how come most banquet rooms have terrible patterned carpet? loll

I think ribbon/bows/tulle does a good job hiding anything and everything

The carpet is because it hides the stains better! I'll look at the companies you suggested!

Depending on where you are renting your linens from, they may also be able to provide chair covers for rent as well! But as someone else said, I don’t believe they will draw as much negative attention as you think😊

My venue is providing the table cloths and linen napkins. I already got table runners cheap second hand from another bride. 🙂 I guess I'm just picturing the chairs all lined up for the ceremony and it's just dark red and the brown swirly carpet.

Ask your venue how much it is to upgrade to chivari chairs. Might be worth it, might be way to expensive. I didn’t know what a chivari chair was until I saw it and needed it haha. It really opens up the entire space with the smaller, lighter more open chairs, and there are usually a variety of colors to choose from. They were included in our package, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to afford them. Worth looking in to 💗

I’m extremely detailed oriented so I remember minute details about wedding because I love that stuff. I don’t think they are horrible and they match the carpet so that’s good. What are your colors?

I'm talking to the events manager tomorrow as she is new and I just want to touch base, I'll see if they have those chairs! My wedding is off season so maybe we can strike a deal.

Yes I saw it after posting 🙈 haha. I think the tulle or bow would bring more attention to it honestly. If you don’t do chair covers I’d just leave them as is.

Leave them alone. Once people are in the seats you won't even notice the red

I would say this is so accurate! We can get so caught up in all the details but in the end our guests barely care! Use your budget wisely, at the end of the day no one is going to notice the floor or the chairs!
