I had a perfect plan for a big church wedding in September (photographed by a professional photographer friend.) With the whole pandemic thing, it's become clear that we need to scale back that plan to a very very small wedding - our parents, a couple friends, no reception - which, after some initial disappointment, I'm actually okay with! It's going to be different, but very special and very us. Our main goal is to get married AND not endanger any of our loved ones.
The catch is, my photographer friend won't be able to come, and here we are only 4 months before the wedding. Before I start trolling through a million websites and contacting photographers, anyone have a finger on the pulse of wedding photographers right now? Is everyone slammed because all the spring brides are rescheduling for fall, or are they desperate for work and willing to negotiate? We need someone flexible (in case there's a bad flareup and we have to postpone), and willing to do smaller packages than normal since at most it'd be about 3 hours of wedding activities instead of a typical 6-8 hours.
Good luck to everyone else out there grappling with uncertainty and dashed plans!
