Any tech savvy people willing to help us build a website for our wedding?

Julia, on March 10, 2015 at 6:38 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

We are so excited and happy to be getting married this summer of 2015 =) And we thought it might be cute to have a website where we can upload details about the schedule and maybe some pictures to showcase our story. As of now we found rsvpwed.com and it has nice looking templates, wedding friendly. I dont know too much about what is good or not. Someone also mentioned wedbuddy? i dont know what to do. Anyone here have a tip for us? Eager to get started asap..

You can make a wedding website on here, or theknot.com is pretty easy to use. You don't really need to be tech savvy at all, the templates do most of the work for you.

Our SquareSpace website is still a work in progress, but I really love how their templates look and everything is easy to use. You can definitely spend hours and hours working on it and not even realize. We're only doing RSVPs online, so I wanted to have a really reliable website (ie: not free) -- Squarespace only comes to $100/year, which I don't think is bad at all!

I've already gotten compliments on it, and it's only a rough version so far. Their sites are the prettiest wedding ones I've seen!

Are these all advertisements disguised as posts...I thinks so. $100/per year on a wedding website is really a ridiculous idea. No one cares that much about your site. Use a free one with a template and call it a day. You won't sit around after your wedding and go "damn I wish I spent more money on my website"

I just used WW website. Not a huge fan of the selection of backgrounds, but, all in all, it's just a website with info.

@Emmy -- nope, I'm all real, kitty cat . After attending 8 weddings in the last couple years and having dealt with others' sites as a guest, then also as a bridesmaid hearing about my friends' issues with their free sites, I would much rather spend $100 on a reliable site that is actually aesthetically pleasing. As soon as I first entered my friend's SquareSpace site, it was easier to navigate, didn't have any formatting issues, and it honestly makes it a much better experience as a guest, especially if you're less tech savy.

Trust me, I used to think it was going to be a waste of money, but considering that people are going to be relying on this thing, it's worth it. For us, it's replacing printed RSVP cards, the RSVP envelopes and postage, and info cards, too. Most people spend more than $100 on all those, so we're breaking even at worst.

If you're wanting something more customizable, if try Weebly or Wix. Both are user friendly enough to manage yourself. Here's how ours ended up for reference: www.crowellwedding2015.weebly. com

I paid like $13 dollars for a site on appy couple. It has really cool features, check mine out www.nicknemily.com and i know nothing about web design. Has pictures, schedules, good travel info, etc..

I prefer WW's over TheKnot. I built my friend's wedding website since she was planning in 3 months and didn't have time, using WW's templates, of course. I wish one of them would offer an HTML/CSS option, but no Smiley sad

Wix.com is where ours is through. Free hosting, and much better than TK or WW. Can pay to host your own domain name if you want.

I suggest that you take a look at these Top website builders for wedding here . For my wedding website, I use The Knot website builder. I like its modern looking templates that are responsive (meaning it works well on computers as well as on mobile phones) .
