Any South Jersey brides have dress alterations at David's Bridal?

Yolanda, on December 11, 2019 at 11:45 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

I've basically hear nothing but horror stories about DB alterations, but most of them I feel the dresses had to altered a lot. I don't need a hem or bustle(don't care for the look of them). I will need the top taken in. That's about it. Trying to google a price list is freaking impossible and I called the store to ask for an estimate and was told I'd get it at my 1st appointment ( but was also told payment is due then) I don't want to go in blind and really don't want to spend $$$$. Anyone in the South Jersey area need similar alterations? Specifically going to the DB in Deptford. Were the seamstresses good?

I'm going in to my first appointment for today, so I'll report back! I'm in Texas, but the prices are probably the same across the company.

I’m in CA; but my alterations were quite affordable in my opinion. I just needed it taken in and I did opt for a bustle. The type of dress factors in to their pricing. If it’s lace (or couture) it’ll be more expensive- mine is but I still didn’t think it was a lot. I was expecting it to be much more.

Hey Yolanda! You will find it difficult to find a price list as each different wedding gown will require a different amount of work, even for the same alteration job. The alteration costs will be based on how the dress is made and subsequently how much work will go into making the changes that you want.

Have you checked out any local dry cleaners? They often offer alteration services also. If you bring your dress in to them, you will be able to ask them specifically how much they anticipate the work to cost.
