Any Pearl Jam fans here?

SoonToBeMrs.G, on January 6, 2017 at 2:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

My dad is a HUGE Pearl Jam fan- he would quit his job and be their groupie if he could. We go to their concerts together, make each other CDs, collect tshirts, etc etc...so I think it'd be awesome to use a PJ song for our father/daughter dance. The problem is, I can't think of any that are really appropriate/fitting! Just Breathe is my favorite and it would be perfect if it didn't talk about his loved one passing away. Figured this is a long shot but thought I'd give it a try anyways. TIA!

FH is a huge PJ fan. I am walking down the aisle to "Future Days".

That one might work for father/daughter.

I LOVE Pearl Jam. Our first dance is Future Days as well. It is pretty hard to find an appropriate Pearl Jam song for a father/daughter dance- considering all of Eddie Vedder's dad issues. Most of his songs are about losing his father, not knowing his father, etc. However, he wrote the soundtrack for "Into the Wild," and I totally think one of those songs would be awesome for a father/daughter dance. If you haven't seen the movie, it's about a kid packing up all his stuff, leaving home on an adventure all on his own. I think No Ceiling would be a great song! It's about a feeling of setting forth on a journey, leaving behind what you know. It's a mix between being scared to leave all behind, but happy and proud that what you are leaving behind is what made you who you are.

Edited: too many spelling errors. I was typing too fast because of my love for all that is PJ.

@roses lol so true about his daddy issues! Haha and that's a great idea, I hadn't even considered using songs from into the wild ! I've never seen it but I will have to do some research now. Thank you! Smiley smile

I agree with using Future Days!

Fun fact: I used to work for a gardening company and Eddie Vedder was one of the clients. I was totally fan girling at his house while pulling his weeds lol.

I didn't even like gardening, I just did it as a summer job. Once I found out I got place at his house, I was so excited to go to work!
