Any one else disappointed with rsvp response?

Allyson, on June 5, 2018 at 7:05 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14
I decided to do online RSVP and I was getting some RSVPs before we even sent formal invites. I was super excited to send out my invitations and couldn’t wait for all the notifications to come through for RSVPs but I’ve only had about 5 couples RSVP since I sent the invites😭. I know it’s still somewhat early since my deadline isn’t until the end of the month but my mom and sister are saying I should have sent paper RSVPs and no one is going to RSVP online. How quickly did people RSVP for you guys? Any one do online RSVP only?

I havent even sent invitations yet, but everyone whos reaching out is telling us they're not coming..... So yea. Lol
A bride on a different post mentioned that she was having issues with the online RSVP portion of her website, so after your deadline I'd check in with every guest who hasn't responded to make sure it wasnt merely a problem with the service online 😊

I’ve heard people having good response with online rsvp. You may have to call some lessons tech savvy people. Plus it seems like you always have to call some stragglers whether it’s online or paper. I know you are super excited but just sit back and relax. People tend to snooze on sending rsvps back or go online even if they know they are coming. Worst case you have to make a lot of calls.

I am sorry that you're going through this. I know for a fact if this happens to me it will send my anxiety through the roof. I plan on sending paper and online RSVPs so no one will say they did not get the notice. Give it some time they may all come pouring in at once. Good luck and happy planning.

I’m old school and don’t trust technology so I’d personally prefer paper RSVP’s (plus I like the formality of it).

My RSVPs are due on the 23rd and I have about half of them back! Lol

No need to be concerned. They’ll start to come in as the date gets closer, and even a few days after the deadline... as frustrating as it can be.

I expected a low acceptance rate as we are doing a destination wedding. Just be patient and stay positive! Everything will play itself out.

I feel like this is an issue, regardless of what medium you use. Good luck!

I had a mixture of both. The ones who I thought would rsvp online actually mailed theirs back to us. I would have preferred them to do it online though but oh well. Ours were trickling in slowly in the beginning but after I made a social media post indicating they need to respond, they started coming in like hot cakes.

Agreed. I only got about 75% of my responses back by the deadline and people could either RSVP by paper or online.

I sent paper RSVPs but found no one used the online option. Few even looked st the website. Not sure if that had to do with me providing paper. Give it some time—I’d get them in bunches.

We did online only RSVP - don't worry. They will come in! DEFINITELY check with people if you don't get a response. We had 4 of the 145 we sent out never make it to their destination. All 4 said they wanted to ask about it (because they received STD) but didn't want it to be awkward. FH was in charge of check with his uncle who didn't RSVP. He kept telling me that he was sure he was coming. Lo and behold, they (a) never got the invite and (b) will be out of the country... He got the "I told you to ask them!" look :-D

That’s totally normal for RSVP return, paper or not! You’ll be chasing people down after your cut off date.

I've been really disappointed with our online RSVP's. Our deadline is tomorrow and less than half of the people we invited have submitted a response at this point. When I bring it up to family and friends they tell me that I should have done paper RSVP's because everyone forgets to go online and submit it. I don't see how it is any different then mailing in a card. I guess I have a lot of hunting down to do Smiley sad

People started RSVPing as soon as I sent out Save the Dates. I think most people have issues with RSVPs even in paper form.

I am doing online RSVP (or phone/email for those that prefer). I have a week left until my RSVP due date and I've heard from 70% of my guests. I think only 3-4 emailed/called me. The rest handled the RSVP system just fine. So far I'm happy with the choice to do online RSVPs and i don't think my response rate would have been higher with a paper document.
