Any offbeat wedding attire?

Mrs. Spring, on August 19, 2020 at 2:34 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
I've decided that I'm definitely NOT going to wear a wedding gown for my big day. Any other brides going off the beaten path with this?

What do you have in mind? I’ve seen people wear jumpsuits!

I thought about a jumpsuit but my FH wasn't having that. LOL... I've seen some great outfits posted by others for their big day.

I wore a wedding dress, but it wasn't white, it was lavender. My bridesmaids wore white. What're you thinking about?

I'm a little nervous to say, lol.
I'm thinking of going more casual. We recently dressed up very nice for engagement photos and while it was fun and I loved a few of the shots; we both agreed that we want to feel like ourselves on our wedding day. Wearing a formal dress and him a tux or suit, just isn't "us."

Be casual! Wear a cute floppy short dress that twirls, or those one-piece jumpsuits with maybe an overskirt for the ceremony. Heck wear pants and a sparkly top. It's Y'ALL'S day!

You can wear anything your heart desires. Do you mean pants instead of a dress or a bold color instead of white?

I love the idea, if it lets you be you. What are your ideas on your dress? I liked the PP about a fun dress.

I agree with everyone else that this is absolutely up to you and your future spouse and you can choose what YOU like because this particular decision doesn't affect anyone else.

My only advice is to coordinate the level of formality between you both. Casual is totally fine, but I think it looks odd when the bride is in a formal gown and the groom is in jeans. You both should look like you put the same amount of effort and consideration into dressing for your wedding. Smiley smile

I agree with Maggie about both of you being the same level. And I say absolutely go for what you feel is "you" it's your day, you do you. I am very curious on what you were thinking about though! Smiley smile

Jumpsuit! (They can be really hard to fit correctly though - alterations will be key). You mentioned FH not being into it but you could also do a removable overskirt. Do some googling - it's a really cool look.

Separates - especially with just one of the items in white as a nod to tradition.

Colorful dress - just pick your favorite color and/or print. It can be a casual or still completely formal dress. If you still want some white you can bring in white flowers or accessories.

Also, I think if done right some jeans, a white top, white pumps and a veil would look tres cool.
