Any DIY ring sizing tips?

MrsBest2B, on September 24, 2015 at 1:11 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

So here's the gist of it. FH purchased e-ring 6.5 which is what I told him I was. I was fat, it was uncomfortable, we had it resized to a 7. I lost 15lbs (yay, but not even close to where I want to be) and now the darn thing is a little big. I recently ordered my wedding band from the same place (Blue Nile), also a 7 and it's even bigger! I could still wear it, but it's big. I think I'm technically a 6.75 which they don't offer. I don't feel like getting both resized professionally. Not right now anyway, but would like a temporary solution other than scotch tape. Anyone have any tips? There are a few things on Google about hot glue gun and dipping in silicone. Just wondering if you ladies have done anything temporary and how it worked out.

Mine is too big and I just got a ring guard. Most jewelry stores have them it is adjustable so you can set it anywhere

I got a ring guard when my e-ring was too big. Just FWIW, I'm a 4.75 and have been able to have jewelers resize my rings accordingly.

I had mine professionally resized to a quarter size so it can be done that way. You can also get those little balls attatched to the inside of the ring, which holds it in place but also allows a little room for swelling.

I thought about a ring guard, but the only ones online were super cheap. I'll go into a real jeweler and see what they can do. I may do the little ball things, I'm not ready to permanently altar my ring though. I don't know why lol. I guess I fear that then it'll be too small again lol

I'd do the balls. A jeweler can do it in minutes. Looks nicer than ring guards, and they can be removed by a jeweler if necessary. I don't think they are expensive.

I've had a few rings changed to a quarter size. It shouldn't be too expensive and my guess is that you'll be very happy with the fit.

Call them. My engagement ring is from Blue Nile and it is a 6.25. They only sell 6.5 and 6.0 on their website, but FH was able to get the correct size by ordering over the phone.

Here I've heard nothing but great things about this item.

    http://www.amazon.com/RING-NOODLE-1-Petite-1-Narrow-Adjuster/dp/B00GUTWY5E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1439225123&sr=8-2&keywords=ring+adjuster

I have my set from Blue Nile too, and they only suggest sizing their pieces up or now a half size.

Exact same thing happened to me with the e ring. I lost almost 45 pounds and it spins on my finger. I would've been better off not resizing it. I plan to get a ring guard.
