Any Cricut users out there?

Sara, on June 13, 2019 at 2:24 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14
I’ve been looking into buying a cricut machine specifically for diy for wedding things, I’m not a pro crafter and I’ve not used a cricut before so I was wondering if anyone else has for weddings or any other reason and has had success without too much of a hassle. It’s a bit of a pricey purchase not sure if It’s worth it. Thanks in advance!

I love my Cricut and I think it's totally worth it if you'll use it for other things besides wedding decor but if not, it would be cheaper to just pay someone else to make things for you.

I do a lot of crafting, but had never used a Cricut until I bought one (the Maker) for wedding things. I've mainly used it to cut crepe paper to make flowers out of so far, but my only regret is not getting one years ago. I do agree with PP that if you're only going to use it for wedding things, I probably wouldn't invest unless you're planning to do a ton with it for the wedding. But if you can afford it and think you'll use it afterwards, I'd 100% recommend getting one.

I love my cricut! I like crafts and will be using it for wedding diys like table numbers and our card box. I recently finished our flower girl baskets. Something simple. All I did for this project was add the girls name.

I invested in one (Explore Air 2) about a month after I got engaged for wedding stuff and I love it. I made a ton of personalized Christmas gifts with it as well. I have a few more projects for my girls I’m going to use it for, as well as some signs and centerpieces. I made FH 2 shirts earlier this week and he was blown away by it and now sparked me to look into the Easy Press 2 to help with iron on projects. There are so many options and YouTube has tons of tutorials

Thank you all for your input, it definitely makes me want to make the purchase. I’m sure if I can master it then I’ll use it after the wedding. I read that the explore air is a good starter machine.

I have a cameo silhouette that I got as a gift. It’s actually turned into a fairly lucrative side business that’s paid for a trip to Jamaica for FH and I, snd honestly, will pay for much of our wedding as well. There is a learning curve with cutting machines like these, but YouTUBE videos have proven to be very helpful as I’ve learned more along the way.

We bought one last year for my mom and she loves it. She has gotten a ton of use from it and she has already made the cake topper for our engagement party with it.

I bought the boxes from container store. They came with a lid. I took the lid off and covered the indentation with the glitter ribbon and my fiancé drilled little holes so I can get the ribbon through them. They were less than $4.

I don't have one but I found out FH's mom does! I was really excited. I will have to see if she has the cutting mat and tools but if not I will buy that and the vinyl. It's a nice compromise for not having to buy my own machine or go elsewhere for vinyls. But I will say, I originally was going to use etsy, or local printing shops for bigger signs. I personally don't see the use for it after the wedding. With all other wedding costs I would consider if it's an investment you want to make, because they aren't cheap!
