Any Brides with a later ceremony time... 6pm?

Alex, on April 17, 2020 at 10:44 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 16
Our wedding is in July and the sun goes down later, so we scheduled our ceremony to start at 6:30pm. Majority of the weddings I’ve been to start around 3-5pm and I wanted to see if any other brides are starting later like us?
One of the main reason we wanted a later reception time is because the sun won’t be so hot and high in the sky with our wedding being in Florida and we will get a beautiful sunset shortly after.

Awesome! Question, what time are you doing pictures? And are you doing a first look?

Our ceremony starts at 6:00 pm in October! So the sun will be going down during our ceremony I'm pretty sure. We really wanted our first look to be when I walk down the aisle, but decided pictures are more important to us and are doing a first look before the ceremony instead. It actually works quite nice for us because we'll go around and greet everyone hopefully during cocktail hour rather than disrupt our meal or anyone else's meal.

Our ceremony will start at 6:00! We're in Texas and it's an indoor ceremony but it worked better with the time that we're expected to be off the property and the length of the reception.

We aren’t doing a first look, but we will be taking pictures during cocktail hour ~7 ish! Our ceremony will most likely be less than 20 mins because we don’t want to keep our guests outside long in the heat. Our reception begins at 7:30 so our cocktail hour will be more like 30-40 mins and we’ll probably miss most of it.

That’s what I’m trying to decide, if I want to have a first look so we can take pictures then or wait and have pictures right after when it’s sunset. I would like to have more than just sunset pictures!

Our ceremony will start at 7 p.m. in September. We wanted the reception to go to the end of the night.

I had a late start ceremony -- 6 pm. My venue had a wedding coordinator that worked with us and helped coordinate all our vendors, mostly for making sure we got as many photos during the light as possible. Also, we had a 5:30 pre-ceremony cocktail hour. Many of our guests thanked us because they could travel in that day or sleep in, etc. My bridesmaids were also happy. hah.

An evening wedding always sounded super romantic to me, so I'm all for it! Ours starts at 6pm. I just imagine the sun going down and our lights turning on. Lol, anyway, it's a good idea with the heat, and it gives people the day to prep or do whatever they need to before coming.

I´m getting married in Florida in July and ceremony is later too! We´re doing things a bit different from the usual timeline. We´ll start with a first look and cocktail hour at 6pm. We're getting married in a museum so guests will have to pass through security. We're also bussing guests from the hotel to our venue, so this allows for guests to come in waves and sightsee in the museum for a bit. Our ceremony will be at 7pm, so hope fully it´ll have a pretty sunset for pictures. That moves dinner to about 8pm, but since everyone would have snacked at the cocktail hour I think it'll be fine. As for those with kids, if they leave the reception early so be it, and there's nothing wrong with having a more adult-themed dance floor as the night goes on! We'll leave about 11:30pm with the whole thing ending at midnight.
