Any brides growing out their hair?

Alexandria, on May 13, 2016 at 4:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 32

Ok, this may seem like a very basic question, but I need some tips! So, my hair is right above my shoulders, I've always had it cut into a bob. But I want it to grow as long as possible before my wedding in June of 2017. What do you use or have you used to help grow some serious length? I just started taking biotin, so I hope that helps!

Prenatal vitamins for sure. I took those and it grew my hair out really long.

Hairfinity, a product for my dry scalp (Dr. Miracle's Gro Oil). I massage my scalp as often as possible as and drinks lots of water. They say regular exercise helps as well because it increases blood flow to the scalp which promotes hair growth. I can attest to that because at one point I was teaching 4 fitness classes a week and one day my hair just grew out of nowhere.

Vitamins! You look so beautiful with short hair, but I'm sure long will be just as gorgeous!

@GymRat does hairfinity work? I have been considering it for months. I have a short style i'm ready to grow out but didn't know anyone who has actually used it!

I use hair skin and nails vitamins by natures bounty, I also stopped using heat on my hair (VERY HARD) but I felt like it would get to one length and not grow past because it would die/split, also 3 minute miracle from aussie has been a life saver!!

Yeah, I am really gentle to my hair and it helps it grow pretty fast. AKA: Don't use heat every day (or every other day)

Also, I use hair masks to keep it moisturized!

I also use the hair skin and nails vitamins by natures bounty, and I love them! My hair has been growing like crazy. Try to prolong washing your hair by using dry shampoo (I like batiste, it's cheap and easy to find) and avoid using heat as much as possible! Look up no heat hairstyles on Pinterest, there's a ton.

Bio oil is doing amazing stuff with my hair. Used to have a pixie cut last year and now it's past my shoulders.

I've never taken anything to help my hair grow faster. I was given the suggestion by my hair stylist to go get a trim every 4-6 weeks. I did that thinking it would take time for my hair to grow (because it usually takes forever for my hair to grow) and then without going back for trim my hair went from shoulder length to my being at my lower back (from December to April)

I was also told your hair grows half an inch every month (as a way to help calm me down when I cut it short again)

I have really long hair (past my hips). My suggestions are to avoid heat treatments; avoid washing your hair everyday; and see your stylist regularly to keep the ends from splitting. Oh, and have patience, because I promise it'll take on a style of its own as it's growing out. :-)

My hair was above my shoulders when we got engaged (Oct '14) and i decided i wanted long hair for the wedding. I haven't been doing anything special, just letting it grow. I've gotten one trim so far since then. My hair is now about half way down my back (and I can't stand it!! can't wait to cut it all off).

You've got over a year, it should grow several inches on it's own by then without any extra help.

I would just make sure you use good quality shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair healthy. Also stay super hydrated and get regular trims. You've got plenty of time to grow it out

I take biotin (5000mcg). I haven't noticed it helping my hair grow faster but it has helped my nails. I avoid all heat treatment.

With the biotin just watch out because some people on here have posted that it's caused acne. I haven't had that problem.

Take prenatal vitamins, folic acid, calcium and D3. Don't massage shampoo into your scalp because when you rinse it, it will wash it all... don't ever shampoo all of your hair, just the stuff on top of your head... where a hat would go. Leave conditioner in while washing your face or shaving. Don't brush until it's dry, wet hair breaks easily. Try to go as long as possible without using heat on your hair. Brush from the tips of your hair and gradually brush higher up, you won't get split ends. Use a hair mask once a week, you can make your own and they are awesome... coconut oil will save your hair. Clip split ends, try to put your hair in a pony tail as least as possible.

This is my hair straight out of the shower (starting to frizz) I've been doing HALF of this for the past year and this is all long and very healthy

I've started trimming my hair regularly and that's helped a lot. I've heard exercise helps as well since it gets your blood flowing. I recently changed to the horse shampoo to see if that will help any. I'm curious about the prenatal vitamins....

I've started growing out my hair, but it's a struggle for me because I'm growing it out for aesthetics and to please my parents lol, I would love short hair on my wedding day. I prefer my short, I'll probably chop it back down immediately the day after (and have an updo for the wedding lol).

I've never thought of prenatal vitamins to help! I've just been taking hair, skin, and nail vitamins.

Go to Lush or online and buy their Roots hair treatment. My hair grows an inch a month when I used that stuff regularly!
