Any biker brides?

Christina, on June 20, 2019 at 4:35 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 22
I know this is probably like finding a needle in a haystack, but my FH and I share a love for motorcycle! (Harley Davidson’s specifically) We both ride and I want to somehow include this love into our rustic barn wedding I’m just not sure how. We are planning on doing the send off on our bikes and having Harley Davidson cornhole boards, but I can’t think of anything else!! Any tips?

Wearing leather jackets for some of your pics maybe? I've seen people get custom ones that say Mr and Mrs.

How fun! I am actually writing this from the Harley corporate offices (I work here)!

You can find pretty much anything with a bar and shield on it these days. You could do some cute custom cake toppers of you and your FH on your bikes, or even just the bikes themselves.

When we started our sponsorship of the Milwaukee Bucks, they added a Rev it Up (sound of a Harley revving) as part of their pre-game show and intros. Could be a fun way to do your grand entrance instead of a song!

You could even maybe incorporate some leather instead of ribbon on your bouquets and centerpieces? I'm picturing like a long fringe of leather coming off your bouquet like you have on your grips in the photo!

I am right there with you!! We plan on having our bike out at the barn (this will most likely be FH entrance to the venue Smiley xd ) along with his dad and my dad on their Harley's. We too are doing HD corn hole games and his grooms cake will be HD themed. Other then that there is not much else we plan on doing to pay tribute for our passion of riding. After our wedding (rather the morning after) we will be riding straight to Sturgis (from MN, We have a shop there) for a little minimoon Our Favorite Place On Earth!Any biker brides? 3

My FMIL had essentially a Harley wedding. Everyone got on their bikes in the morning and we took a 3 hour ride to an out-of-state biker bar/chapel. The upstairs had a chapel and they got married there. The other half of the upstairs was a private bar space (downstairs was public), so the "reception" was there. People just ordered food and drinks from the bar and hung out until we rode home.

You could do orange & black for colors? Incorporate old bike parts for centerpieces, or just make it have that vibe? Old gasoline canisters, tires, headlights, etc.

And I’m obsessed with the grand entrance song being motorcycle sounds the FH will love that!!Also I never would have thought about adding leather to the bouquet that’s such a cute idea! Thank you!! 😊

It was pretty rad! A few important people came down in cars (like her 80-year-old mother), but most everyone was on board!

This is going to be so awesome!!!! You could do like custom koozies for favors! have them orange and black with the Harley Davidson logo on one side or two people on motorcycle and then on the other side have it personalized for you and your FH with the date Smiley smile

We are doing either Koozies or reusable cups with the bar and shield on them and our names and the date. The favors have been difficult

If you are having an outdoor ceremony, I would drive up in the motorcycles to the end of the aisle and then walk up the aisle. After the ceremony the two of you walk back down the aisle together, hop on the bikes and drive off. (depending on the dress)

And if you have a lot of friends that ride, I would welcome them park their bikes in a circle around the ceremony.

My FH and I are both very into motorcycles as well (mostly sport bikes). We are most definitely incorporating bikes into our wedding, as that is why we were introduced and pretty much what we do whenever we can. All of the groomsmen ride, so they will ride up to the back of the seating for the ceremony, park the bikes and then walk up the aisle with the bridesmaids. We are currently each rebuilding old Hondas into cafe racers, which we hope to have behind the officiant during the ceremony. I plan on having the officiant hold any notes or script in a Clymer manual. I found a bunch of really cute/neat cake toppers on Etsy that are motorcycle themed, just have to pick one now.... We will also have dedicated motorcycle parking in a prominent place (our venue is outdoors and the parking area is near the reception area. We are of course leaving the reception on our 'Trusty Steed', our main sport touring bike that has taken us everywhere and on so many adventures. I will have a second, short dress for leaving that I can put my riding pants under and tuck up under my jacket. This is big because we have been to multiple weddings on the bike where I've had a nice dress under my gear and heels in the saddle bag. We've talked about finding vows to use or take inspiration from that are bike themed, we've found a few, but they lean more Harley so we are still looking and thinking/tweaking. I want to have an 'Adventure Ideas' station asking people to leave suggestions for dates and adventures (we always phrase our motorcycle trips as adventures, and talk about planning our next adventure), preferably motorcycle friendly. I also really want to word our invitations: "You and your motorcycle's presence is requested at the wedding of ..."
