Anxious for honeymoon

John Smith, on January 25, 2020 at 10:56 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7
Anyone else anxious about planning their honeymoon?

We’re looking to go to Costa Rica and have been doing SO MUCH research on all of the options. Neither of us have been to Central America before so it’ll be a brand new experience and I feel like there’s so much pressure on it to be perfect.

For some reason i don’t trust that these villas are as nice as they say they are or I just think that they’re lying to us somehow (along with the 1k + reviews), which is pretty ridiculous. I also can’t help but obsess over the one bad review out of the hundreds of good ones that goes on to say why their experience was so awful. I just can’t shake the feeling that something is going to go wrong. Our wedding is in 5 months so we’re running out of time to commit!
Anyone super anxious about their honeymoon?

Hi Annajoy! I'm a little anxious for my honeymoon as well, but also super excited! We are not leaving the country though. We will be going to Vegas! I just booked our honeymoon tonight and we went with a bundle deal. I read all of the fine print and I know that I will still have to pay resort fees, but it makes me anxious that there are other expenses I havent thought about! I definitely know how you feel!

Costa Rica will be great! I can't speak to the villas, but my family went all inclusive in 2018 and it was gorgeous.

I'm working on an African safari trip. I'm looking for April or May 2021 so even if I could make decisions, not much is up for booking yet. At this point I'm so overwhelmed by prioritizing places/activities and making sure they're not too spread out. I'm doing research on like 8 different countries right now haha

Hi Annajoy, I had the same problem!! You can drive yourself crazy reading reviews! I couldn't even decide where we should eat on our honeymoon because I so badly wanted everything to be perfect Smiley sad. It takes so many hours to research a destination, especially when you are going to a place you have never been to before. We ultimately ended up hiring a company called honeycrafted (www.honeycrafted.com) to make a totally custom itinerary for us for that reason....I was already just exhausted from wedding planning so it was nice to outsource honeymoon planning. I highly recommend them--we are going to South America (Peru) and I'm obsessed with the itinerary. I have been to Costa Rica and it's magical so I'm sure no matter what villa you choose it will be lovely!! Smiley smile

    Two words... Travel agent.

We started researching our Italy honeymoon and it was so overwhelming. My fiance reached out to a local agent and we went in to talk to him. We told him our vision and he drew up an entire itinerary. He founds places we never would have found on our own. From there, we made a few tweaks before finally booking. We're seriously so excited for our honeymoon and the travel agent takes the pressure off of us to plan a honeymoon on top of a wedding.

    Oof same!
We aren’t going out of country (or out of state for that matter) but I’ve spent literal hours researching and putting things together. And I’m usually not the planning type!
I’m so nervous that the places we stay aren’t going to be as nice as we hoped or more expensive than we thought. Honeymoons are for relaxing right? 😂

I think it's normal to feel nervous for planning such a big trip! i've gone on many large international trips in my life but there is usually some sort of anxiety i feel too sometimes just because it is a new place
