Anxiety

Keyona, on October 16, 2019 at 9:53 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13

Hey Guys,

This is more of a vent for positive vibes. So officially a little over 5 months away from the wedding. We have our tasting next week with the cater and to finalize some details. We only owe $100 on the venue and the vacation is the last major expense.

But here is where anxiety comes in - We are also buying a home. We put a offer on a house on Sunday and it was accepted and I sent over the requested documents. Scheduled the inspector and I guess has anyone else been doing two major changes at once? I am just wondering whats after the inspection, whats after the lender reviewing the 1,000 of documents requested. The seller wants to close 11/29 and it seems so soon and then moving. I am just wondering how did other brides stay calm.

I am excited but OMG my mind is never not racing either its the wedding details or the house process.

Thanks Guys for Any Positive Words or Vibes You Have.

Congratulations on buying a house!! I know it has to be stressful. We were considering buying a house before our wedding, but decided it was probably best for us to just wait until after the wedding. Just take a minute to breathe, take a break from the wedding, and get excited for your new home Smiley smile

Its a lot, but at least you will be moved before the wedding and that isn't happening simultaneously...now that would be stressful.

After the inspection, you have to make sure there is nothing huge on there that would be a concern or that the bank wants taken care of. The bank will order the appraisal and if the number comes back for what you offered or above, then its good. If it comes lower, the bank may have some conditions.

Once the appraisal is done, your file will go through underwriting and once that is done and approved, you are good to close. Then its just signing paperwork and bringing funds to closing.

Congrats and good luck with everything.

OMG thanks for this! I know its great we will be in before and settled.

OK awesome so the weekend or next week I should have the inspection report back. And fingers crossed all goes well.

Thanks so much for the play by play now I feel I know what to anticipate.

We actually put a contract on 112 acres of land yesterday. We are meeting on Tuesday with a builder about building a house. I’m like you, excited but anxious.

Omg congrats ! That's amazing. I'm in the process of searching for a home so I don't know either ahah but I'm following this post so I can learn ! We also put a bid on a home and are supposed to learn about if we got it within the next couple days. I've been a nervous wreck since placing the bid aha.

Wow, you've got a lot on your plate!

First buying a home is awesome! Congratulations!! I bought my first home a couple of years ago. The timeline you reference is pretty standard, 45 day close, or thereabouts. But it is scary once the ball starts rolling. But on that front, it's really just a bunch of waiting at this point. The lender will do what they do, and they may ask you for more documents (it happens), but it's in their hands now. Eventually, you'll have to go sign 8 million documents. But then you'll be a homeowner!!

Try to relax. Like I said, it's a waiting game now, so you can concentrate on the wedding. Just give yourself breaks when you need it. Take care of you!!

    Hi Cristy,

I think that the scary part waiting and not spending money lol in case they as for more information. Praying they don't ask for more documents lol but so excited to be back in the house tomorrow.

I keep hearing my hand will hurt after signing all the documents lol but I am excited overall. Wedding wise its the little things which I am over the details but you right maybe a complete break for a week and then back to it. Thanks so much!

Congrats! FH and I just bought our first home a few months ago. From my experience, you are past the hard part. Once our offer was accepted, we only had to turn in a few more documents, mostly because FH couldn't find what we needed. But our realtor and mortgage lender really took care of a majority of it. We closed in less than 30 days, and still had plenty of time to spare. To make our actual closing go faster I read all the documents ahead of time since our bank was nice enough to send them over. FH and I were so excited to be in our new home, we actually took pillows and blankets over right after we closed and had a slumber party in the living room since we weren't moving until the next day.

Aww well I'm glad to know the hard part is over Smiley smile now just the waiting game. I can honestly say my realtor and lender are amazing! Very communicative and on top of everything thus far - they notify me of emails lol and i like to think I'm on top of things lol

That would be great i may look into that if I can get the documents sooner. I would love to have a sleepover that sounds so cute. We haven't decided when to move-in but once we have the keys we have all the time to get settled and moved in. Congrats on your home and your wedding is soon I'm sure that's exciting.

Congratulations!! We are a little under 5 months till our wedding too! We also just bought a house in July. After our offer was accepted(they had a counter offer that we took). Itbwas time to set up the inspections. Once we had the inspections done and paid for all the info got sent over to the realtor. Next step was to have the appraisal done on the house, the loan officer took care of all of that stuff. Took maybe a week or so to finally get everything back. Once it was all back and all the paperwork submitted, it went to underwriters and they COMB through everything to make sure you are able to make payments and such. That took a few weeks. We closed July 8th and started the official ball on May 28-30th I can't really remember just that it was the end of May. The 4th of July weekend set us back a few days and the fact we had to change some of the paper work since my name is also on the deed to the house. It was a SUPER stressful, but it took my thinking off the wedding for a bit which was nice.
