Hi all, so I tried to make my own veil and the trouble I am having is my dress is technically two colors. The bodice is whiter than the tulle skirt which is a light ivory. I don’t know which to try and match.
Background: I’ve made three veils. The first was too yellow against the dress so I made a second with a lighter ivory. The shade still looks slightly too yellow but not as much as #1. The last one matches the lighter bodice but now looks too white against the tulle skirt. I’ve taken fabric swatches to all the local fabric stores in my area and still haven’t found any that would work.
I really don’t want to spend $330 plus tax and shipping on the designer’s matching veil to wear for about an hour. All three the veils above I made for about $30. At this point, I’m thinking either chuck all the veils and make a pop of color one to REALLY stand out (blue maybe?), just wear the one that is slightly too white but matches the bodice, or just not wear a veil.
Thoughts and advice?
(Btw, by chuck all the veils I mean give them away. I don’t mean trash them. They are still pretty)
