Another question about petal toss

Kimberly, on October 3, 2020 at 9:48 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
The other day I posted about how we should handle out petal toss as we exit the ceremony. We really like the cones for the petals and I just don’t think I can place them on the seats as they will spill out. I found an option to hole punch and use a ribbon to hang each cone on the chairs. That is certainly an idea but I am concerned about our time for set up. We only have about 30 minutes to set up. The venue is all inclusive so most of the set up is done by them but because we are doing our own petal aisle runner we have to do that and I didn’t like the centerpieces for the reception so we will have to do that as well. And then just a few other set up things. I’m concerned if we also add hanging the petal cones we will just be super rushed.
It is also a destination wedding so we are limited on what we can take with us (driving but still limited). Would it be super tacky to use a couple of chairs at the beginning of the aisle (one on each side) with a basket of the petal toss cones and a sign to take one before sitting? The venue doesn’t have a table we can use so we have to take one. That’s why I thought possibly utilizing what they do have. Thoughts?
To give you an idea here is a picture of the ceremony location. We will have the arch and the chairs with only the back row with sashes. We will also have a pretty full rose petal aisle runner and the lanterns at the beginning of the aisle. No signs or shepherds hooks. Another question about petal toss 1
If not having the chair with the petal cones here I could possible have them right as they come out of the doors onto the deck.

I think the baskets will look fine. Before I decided to hang mine I bought a bunch of these to sit on the ground in each aisle https://www.dollartree.com/essentials-round-gold-iron-baskets-7875x475-in/296642

Is there someone (a friend or family member) who could act as a greeter as people enter and hand them a cone from a basket? Even if you do that, I might still attach the ribbons to them so the guest can then hang their cone on the back of a seat in front of them so they don't have to hold it upright until the end of the ceremony.

I agree you are going to have too much to do to hang them from the chairs, etc., yourself. Daughter's florist put the aisle petals down, but because of a light breeze she had to wait until the last minute to do it.

We are having such a small wedding I’m not sure if having someone hand them out will work. I can possibly ask my sister though. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes that sounds like the most functional option with your constraints. Plus the person that sits in that chair can be the designated person that ensures everyone has a cone

Oh no I meant just two extra chairs away from the set up of chairs. Not part of the set up.
