So I was at a wedding last month for a co-worker and one of the groomsmen actually proposed to his girlfriend during their wedding reception (without the bride or groom knowing). Do you feel like he did it at the wrong time? Me personally I don’t want nobody taking away from me and my FH day. And...

Do you feel like he did it at the wrong time? Me personally I don’t want nobody taking away from me and my FH day. And yes my co-worker and her husband were upset!!

Oh, I would be SO mad.

That's so rude. A) Someone else's day, B) without their knowledge/blessing???, C) ooof public proposal is dicey (and I *asked* for one)... just. Read the room.

I think that is completely rude. It is one thing if he had okay'd it with the bride and groom and they were good with it, but to do that at someone else's wedding without express permission is completely out of line. I even contemplated not telling my best friend that I got engaged the week between her DW and her local reception because I wanted it to be her time to shine! I did end up telling her but mostly because I wasn't not going to wear my ring and if she noticed she would have been upset with me for not saying anything.

That’s definitely inappropriate and disrespectful. They has every right to be upset and ask them to leave. If I got proposed to at another couples wedding I would be embarrassed beyond belief

Absolutely. Unless the bride & groom knew about it and okayed it, that is totally NOT OKAY.

That is completely wrong! It's one thing to have spoken to the bride and groom before hand and they agree but if it was a compete surprise to them as well that is horrible! I would be so upset if someone did that at my reception!

Probably one of the biggest social faux pas! Even if the bride and groom knew, you just don't do that. They deserve to be thrown out immediately, I really hope no one does this at my wedding.

Unless you have the explicit consent from both the bride and groom, then yes. If not, prepared for one angry bride! Smiley angry

I would hate that! I mean I just feel like it's not appropriate because it takes a bit of shine away from the couple.
