A month out isn't really too far ahead to need RSVP's it's actually pretty reasonable. That gives you time to hunt down people who haven't responded to you and gives preparation for your vendors. Once September 5th hits, just give give them the amount of potential guests to that date.

I asked for RSVPs a little bit before a month before mine actually too just because the catering needed a month and also because I wanted time to reconcile just in case people lag

Why do your baker and florist need to know exactly how many people are attending your wedding?

My wedding is November 16th and I am asking for RSVPs back by October 1st just because with school starting back I needed plenty of time to contact those who did not respond. Also we have to order tablecloths by October 7th and I don't want to pay for more than I will need.

Is there some kind of clause in either contract where you can increase but not decrease the headcount? Either way, hopefully you have a good ballpark figure by then, can add in a little extra based on your guests who haven't RSVP'd yet, and get close to the right numbers.

That sounds early. However I would do what you are doing and have the RSVP date in late August to give you a chance to contact any stragglers. I would also side on caution and get 1 or 2 centerpieces extra & a few extra cupcakes just in case.

That's our RSVP deadline and we're getting married October 12th. That's totally reasonable for your guests.

My wedding is October 13th. Our rsvp date is September 12th. Most vendors need a final count 2-3 weeks before the wedding, so a month prior is actually pretty reasonable and common for rsvps to be due by.

Having your RSVP date a month early is fine! My wedding is a week before yours and our RSVP Date is August 31st.

Our wedding is the same date and our RSVP deadline is August 28th. I decided to make it on my late grandmother's birthday ♥️ Figured it was close enough and gives me a few extra days to follow up with stragglers before September 5.

You don't really need exact guest numbers for those. Are you only planning on ordering exactly as many cupcakes as guests? When does your caterer need final numbers?

I don't think it's too early if it needs to suit your timeline needs. If you have to give final headcounts for certain things then that's what you gotta do!
