Anomalie - To good to be true?

Aurora, on January 15, 2018 at 6:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 21
Hello! Has anyone ordered their wedding dress from Anomalie? I had 4 wedding dress appointments last weekend and didn't fall in love with any of the dresses, but some components of the dresses I tried. Not one dress brought together all the things I loved. I live in New Mexico so we don't have a ton of nearby bridal salon options. We are getting married at the end of October, so I have a little bit of time but was hoping to make my purchase in the middle of next month. First and second hand experiences with Anomalie especially about quality would be most helpful. Thank you!

Google reviews and check better business burea. But I’d be too scared getting a dress online, a wedding dress is just too important.. can a dress you like be modified to fit your vision?

I had a phone call with them .. it's an American company.. the say they use high quality silks . I'm going shopping next Monday but if I don't like anything I will go anomalies. It's a newer company so reviews may be hard.. if it doesn't fit perfect it can always be altered and they have 100% money back guarantee

They actually have amazing reviews and from what I’ve read from their website and social media if you don’t like the dress after it’s all done you get 100% of your money back. I follow them on Instagram and the stuff they make looks gorgeous and they really put a lot into each dress. I was seriously considering going through them for a dress before I fell in love with a WTOO gown.

I have a great NM seamstress (in abq) if you need one. She could make whatever dress you want!!! Also Denver and Phoenix are inexpensive quick trips for dress shopping if you are in a bind versus buying some dress that may not be as billed.

I MIGHT go ahead with Anomalie. I had my design consultation with them and it was very thorough.

I am currently designing my dress with Anomalie, but I haven't received it yet. They have been very friendly and really communicative, but my only piece of advice is to REALLY know what you want and be able to compromise. They won't exactly replicate a dress you love. I wanted a specific lace and they told me I could only choose from their 'lace library'. They said it was due to time constraints (6 months), and that they could have outsourced a more similar lace if they had time, but it was a real bummer. Maybe you'll find something you like even better in their library or they'll actually have to time outsource if nothing feels right? I also had Chinese New Year happen right in the middle of production, so that took a month away from how long they could work on my dress. Either way, they offer a money back guarantee, and I have a backup dress in case it's not what I envisioned.

Update: I found another dress at a boutique at a good price! Never mind Anomalie.

Hannah, I'm curious, did you receive your dress and were you happy with it? Any words of wisdom? I ordered a dress through Anomalie, and it is currently in the production stages but I haven't seen any photos yet. I'm just starting to get anxious be cause it is coming so soon before my wedding (2 months before). I'm not sure if I can afford a back up, but that's so smart.

Yes I received my dress and I wasn’t happy with it. They offered to pay a tailor to fix it, but I was fed up by that point and I didn’t think it would work. The bustier part was said to have boning, but I found it really unsupportive. They also missed a few key details. The final straw was when they asked ME to source tiny pearls for the neckline because they didn’t know where to find any in time. I had a somewhat complex dress though and I know that was part of the reason they couldn’t deliver. If you have a normal wedding dress you should be fine. Just be sure that when they do send pictures, it’s exactly how you pictured it and don’t be afraid to tell them something looks off.

This made my heart sink, I have just been feeling uneasy about it lately and am worried that if its not right I will be in big trouble. The company is growing and I have just started to feel like the customer service is canned and not really helpful. Good to know they will pay the tailor if its really wrong- like beyond simple alterations. My dress is pretty simple not a lot of beading or anything, but the boning is super important to me for support, I am fairly large chested.

I honestly think you might be fine! Just tell them you want underwire support and strong boning. My dress was backless so it’s hard for the boning to actually provide support, but there was no underwire in my cups and so my boobs basically fell below the bra lol (I’ve had a kid, so they aren’t what they used to be 😩). Since your dress isn’t backless, I think you should be okay!

Thanks Hannah, I appreciate the encouragement, I have another 3-4 months to wait for the dress, but I'll try to give everyone an update when it comes it. Happy planning everyone Smiley smile

Nope. Very much real. I got mine in the mail today!

Initially (probably from shipping), the tulle was very stiff and felt cheap and I was disappointed. BUT, after steaming and hanging up for a few hours, the fabrics all softened up and the quality was on par with the dresses I tried on in all the schmancy downtown boutiques.

And, bonus, because it was made for me, I don’t really need any alterations. I’ll only be going to the tailor for a bustle.

So I got my dress in the mail, and had my wedding! I had lots of compliments on the dress! The dress was gorgeous, only minor edits (taken in, added a bra, shortened a bit, and bustle). Did have some hiccups working with Anomalie, for example, they couldn't complete my belt beading, however, they tried and were upfront, and gave a full refund. I would 100% work with them again, their customer service is great. You just really have to communicate well and speak your mind if you have any concerns!

It's beautiful!!! I think I'll try them out! I have already bought a dress that I hate now. So I'm going to have to sell it somehow. I really like the idea of anomalie because I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere...

Julia you are beautiful and that dress turned out fabulous! After doing some dress shopping and finding out that local designers are probably out of my budget I am seriously considering Anomalie - scheduled my intro call for Monday. Glad to see you had a good experience with them. Thank you for posting!

Thanks Jenna you're too sweet! Good luck , I hope it works out for you. Its a great company, dont be afraid to ask for clarifications, ask questions, and speak up and your dress will be something out of a dream. Its amazing how many different styles they can make, and they really are pro bride.
