Ann's Bridal Bargains - Invites with Free Response Card

Lisa, on May 15, 2019 at 1:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Good morning everyone!

I recently posted about all the different websites for invites and everyone came back with great recommendations! With that said, I am playing around with invitations from Ann's Bridal Bargains and I am a little confused.

The set that I am looking at says "INVITATION WITH FREE RESPOND POSTCARD" OK great, a FREE response postcard. While customizing I get to the step to customize the back side of the response postcard but, there is only an option for the return address. But I guess that's OK because the guests will write their name on the Mr./Mrs. line on the other side. So I go to the next step and it asks if I want to customize the 'inner' envelope which I assume is for the response card. Not really sure what the point of the envelope is for if the response card is a postcard?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Did you use the envelopes or use the postcard as a 'postcard'? If you use the envelope is it still considered a postcard with postcard postage? Smiley winking

I plan to write numbers on the RSVP's so I can identify who they are from in the event the guest forgets to include a return address or forgets to fill in the Mr./Mrs. line regardless of the invitation type.

Thank you in advance!!

The inner envelope is for the invitation suite, not the RSVP response. When you stuff the invites, the whole suite goes into the inner envelope. Then the inner envelope goes into the outer envelope. On the inner envelope you write all the names of the people invited. For instance, the outer envelope may just say Mr. John Smith. The inner envelope will say "John Smith and Guest" if they get a plus one (and aren't in a formal relationship to where you can address them both by name).

I ordered from Ann's Bridal Bargain too, and I was a little confused. They send a little insert explaining the etiquette for addressing envelopes and stuffing them.

Thanks Hannah! This is definitely not clear on the website! I appreciate your help. If you don't' mind me asking, what was the cost of your postage for the invitation suite?

I used Ann's...and I highly recommend that site. As PP stated, the inner envelope isn't for the RSVP (response) card. Your guests would send it back like a post card. I also numbered mine, just in case. I didn't have any issues with people not filling in their names, but there was one illegible name that I had to rely on my numbering system for, lol. Anyways, I bought 100 invitation suites, only paid $89..whoop whoop! And I bought 2 stamps per set: one for the outer envelope, and one for the RSVP card. Regular postage worked just fine. However, I didn't utilize the inner envelopes...because really, I just didn't see the point, lol. So I threw them out and put the invite and RSVP postcard in the outer envelope only.

Yeah, I was confused when I got them to and reas the insert/Googled inner vs outer envelopes. Postage was cheap. I had 1 stamp for the RSVP and 1 stamp for the invitation as a whole. I used the inner envelopes. I even had the post office weigh one just to make sure I just needed the single forever stamp.

That's awesome! Thank you so much! I don't think I'd use the inner envelope - might want to make some sort of band to hold it all together.

Just an idea for those unused inner envelopes.... I donated them to my daughter's 2nd grade classroom and the teacher was very grateful.
